"Are you certain this is going to work?" Arachna muttered doubtfully as she and her associate waited in the wings around the corner of a building from a recent scene of basic, murderous gang violence. Someone whom Arachna didn't much care to know or remember had been shot and left for dead in a dark alleyway. Just another casualty of the constantly waged war in the area. It wasn't much of a concern to the woman, actually. All she cared about was the rumored results that had begun to crop up upon a person's death in the darker areas of the city.

Arachna was well and truly an extremely patient woman, but the stories she'd heard from the living hive of a man concerning a hideous deformity of flesh and muscle seeking out any dead flesh and whisking it away to add to its ever-growing collection seemed incredibly farfetched even in the mind of a woman who sported spider legs and spinnerets!

"If this thing really does show up, get ready to run and keep up with it. I require a closer look at just what's going on here. What's the point in collecting dead bodies?" In order to accurately follow the supposed thing, Arachna had ensured that the body was secured with a thin line of webbing still attached to her spinneret. As the body and, by extension, the beast traveled further away, they'd never be able to escape Arachna's line to them. She'd be able to easily follow this mystery back to its source and discover what was going on at the heart of this bizarre series of events.

They were quite the pair, the spider looking woman and the walking bug collection, that was for sure, most people would be reviled at the sight of her, but it was this very feature that made George feel more comfortable around the woman. It made approaching her with the information she was trolling for easier, and George was good at collecting information, maybe not as well at distributing it. His gambit with the Red Diamonds had fallen through the cracks and now he was here freelancing what he'd learned.

"Absolutely." George answered the Arachna without hesitation, "I was right about the presence of bodies after all. The sightings of things coming and cleaning up after the violence are too substantial to be hearsay."

Reaching his hands up several dragon flies landed on his hands and simultaneously began to relay information to him, none of it was pertinent. The Hive took the information and raised his hands to the air to give his little scouts a speed advantage to fly away and get back on patrol. Between Arachna's web and The Hive's dragonflies there'd be no way that whatever was taking bodies would get away.

"Yeah, you could say that I'm good at running." George replied, he didn't even need to look back at the bodies, he had so many compound eyes watching them that there was really no point to put his complex eyes on them. "And I don't know, maybe someone's playing volunteer coroner?" It was a joke in poor taste but it would still pass the time effectively.

"You shall bring me clay from the shadows, remain hidden from the world."
Clay was near. Klaus knew it. The red wetness of it poured into the open from the alcove it hid in. Silently, it entered the alcove and stood over the body; to an outsider, it was a bizarre sight; his arms and legs were both unnaturally long and had an extra set of joints to them. No head sat atop his shoulders, the four eyes instead embedded in the chest. The flesh was stitched like patchwork cloth, and the torso was asymmetrical and lopsided.
Klaus lowered his tall body to better inspect the clay, caressing it with one of his talons. Some of the previous bodies were beyond use, and this angered the Master. "You will obey my commands." The Master commanded Klaus not to bring back clay beyond use, but this one was intact. A puncturing of the head, but this was nothing significant, not to the Master. So, gingerly, like a parent scooping up their injured or distressed child, Klaus took the clay into his arms. Then, with surprising dexterity, he kicked his way up the wall and began sprinting with immense speed back to the Master. "Remain hidden from the world." The roofs were always safer than the streets; fewer people looked up...

Arachna raised a mildly irritated brow in Hive's direction as he made the awful pun, shaking her head and going back to concentrating on any vibrations from her webbing or word from her associate concerning sightings his bugs had made.

And then it happened. She could hear the sounds of someone or something approaching from the opposite side of the alley to apparently investigate the body. Arachna cast her eyes warily in the male's direction, seeking any sort of cues as to whether they should be worried or not It didn't take long, however, before there was a tug at her line as the carcass was pulled up and carted off much faster than she'd been anticipating.

Without a word, Arachna tailed after the body snatcher, scaling the building to emerge up onto the rooftops more than a safe distance behind their mystery target in pursuit. Once up on the rooftops she used her human legs and arms to run and leap when able while her bottom two spider legs continued to feed webbing from her body like a fishing line as the creature continued to gain ground. It was speedy. She would definitely give it that...

"It's here." George relayed as Arachna's fishing line went taut. He'd just received the word via dragonfly. George took off at street level after his partner in crime. He however would keep at street level, letting his dragonflies give him course corrections, keeping three on the thing in a rotating fashion giving him regular updates on the things route, it may discover Arachna and try to lose her, but it wouldn't lose him.

The dragonfly that made the initial spotting of the thing gave him an update. The thing wasn't human, as The Hive had first thought, it was some amalgam of flesh. The Dragonflies description wasn't clear beyond that.

Already winded George rounded another corner to try and keep up with the body-snatcher on foot. Even with a body in tow it was light on its feet. Was it a person? Or some kind of construct? Or perhaps even a monster? Damn this thing was too freaking fast, but it wasn't faster than his dragonflies. No matter how far it ran they would keep up with him, peeling back only to give The Hive updates.

The factory wasn't far now. The tall smokestacks loomed ominously over the streets; once, it must have been bustling. Now, it was silent. Master liked silence. He used to criticize Klaus for being too loud, but Klaus quickly learned how to be silent.
Klaus stopped on the edge of the house he was perched atop of, quickly looking back and forth at the streets. They were empty. Silently, he leaped down into the streets, dashing across the open stillness to the factory. Master instructed him not to use the door; Klaus did not know why, nor did he need to know why. He was told to use the skylight, and so he scaled the side of the building, climbing like a spider up the side of the building, running along the roof, and descending back inside. Everything was still and silent; the bells tied to the front door were silent and fashioned in their proper places. The other direction, there was a stairwell leading up to the second floor. If Master was here, that is where he would be. If he was not there, Klaus would deposit the clay next to the Circle with the other body and silently await his return. He closed the skylight, tightly locking it behind him, and made for the back room.
Master was home; he was distressed. Something was bothering him, something Klaus did not see. Klaus placed the body silently on the ground, and Master looked up with a start. "Klaus... Good, it is good you are home... And you've brought clay, good clay, clean clay..." He knelt next to the body, inspecting it. The scalpel came out, cutting away the clothing, some of the hair, a strand of spider silk attached to the foot, everything but what Master wanted. "Leave me, Bringer of Gifts... I have work to do..."
You will obey my commands. Klaus turned and left the room, silently sitting beneath the stairs, motionless. Out of sight and hearing until called again, just as Master preferred. Master did not like having his work interrupted...

Arachna only managed a good look at the flesh golem from behind as it stopped to survey the streets below, no doubt ensuring that it wouldn't be spotted during it's descent to street level. In the meantime she hunkered low, ducking behind a chimney to ensure that she wasn't spotted if it happened to take a glance behind.

Once certain she was in the clear, Arachna peered back out and watched as the creation scaled the wall of the nearby warehouse and slipped in through a skylight. She'd immediately attempt to do much the same, but upon reaching the skylight and giving it a quick tug and push would realize that it had been tightly locked. ...Huh. Who actually locked skylights from skyward intruders on a tall warehouse? This guy, apparently. A bit paranoid, this one. It just meant that he had something to hide.

Climbing back down the wall, Arachna immediately addressed Hive, whom was probably waiting down below at this point and doing his own thing.

"Reports on what's inside?" she inquired, assuming that he'd been at least smart enough to get eyes on the inside to scope the place out before they entered. She'd taken a quick look at all four walls from the roof and it appeared that only one of them had a door and it would likely be either locked or booby trapped so they'd be making a noisy entrance no matter what. It would be good to know what to expect once they'd entered and the denizens within were made well aware of their presence.

Though he said he was a runner, The Hive was catching his breath as he arrived outside the house, he was a runner, but he wasn't a cross-country runner or a marathoner... cause fuck those guys. However the entomological exhibit of a man was more than able to catch his breath by the time Arachna caught up to him.

By the time she addressed him he'd already have fleas searching the facility, they couldn't see nearly as well as the dragonflies and he was still working on their way of relaying information but as of right now they would be adequate and quick in their results. They could after all leap repeatedly over fifteen body lengths.

The whole lot of his troop however could fit in the palm of his hand and after a few minutes of exploring the area and finding their prize inside the little buggers would communicate some interesting results, that the guy they were chasing was waiting for another guy... that was doing something the fleas weren't familiar with, just sitting there.

"The doors have a makeshift alarm on them. The guy we're after is on the second floor." George paused for a moment slipping house spiders under the door The Hive pulled a pouch from his pocket and began to unlock the front door, being as practiced as he was he waited until he got signal via go-between flea that the spiders were in position before pushing open the door and silently swinging it open. The Hive's House Spiders had webbed the bells into place, holding the soundlessly tight.  George was a talented BnE artist before his powers, Now he was a master.

"After you M'lady." The Human Hive whispered swinging an arm into the main foyer for his partner to enter.

Bells. There was light ringing, nothing too significant, but it was a sound that shattered the silence. Master preferred silence, especially while he worked. Klaus knew that he had to investigate, to protect the Master. Silently, he crawled out of his hiding place beneath the stairs and saw two entities entering the factory. With immense speed and unnatural silence, he ran into their path, stopping about twenty feet in front of them, his four eyes shifting from one specimen to the next. He straightened both sets of knees, standing to his full height of nearly seven feet, his abnormally thin arms spread wide, claws bent and ready to slash. Klaus stood silently, staring down the intruders, waiting for either to move. The second either got to close, he was ready to lunge forward with blinding speed to slash. If they attempted to run, Klaus was bound by his Master's laws to follow and kill them; he was to remain in the shadows. Whatever happened, these two had to die now. As decreed by the Master's rules.

Arachna bowed wordlessly with graceful cordiality as Hive allowed her first entry, confidently stepping into the room just in time to see their way blocked by a rather hideous sort of flesh monstrosity. Judging by the shape of it and the brief glimpse she'd caught as she was following the thing back to the warehouse this was one and the same creature. She immediately assumed it was of low intelligence based on the almost prehistoric animal appearance of the thing despite it being stitched from flesh that appeared human.

"Well aren't you just an adorable little abomination..." Arachna purred with a predatory sort of seduction to her voice. Between sentences she brought herself to standing at her full height on her spider legs, raising her a bit over the height of the thing before her. "Thinking you're going to be able to stop me..." She brought her mandibles to bear threateningly, testing this thing's devotion to whatever master may be waiting within.

Bad. Hive scolded his spiders for their failure to completely secure the bells like they'd been told. His silent entry wasn't as quiet as he'd like or as soundless as he'd originally thought. Well now that their stealthy approach was fucked he might as well make it completely fucked.

Stepping into the room and coming shoulder to shoulder with Arachna reaching into his jacket George produced a large blocky pistol and securing it with both hands, something he'd learned to do test firing it in the warehouse district. He took a quick aim and squeezed the trigger and let fly a different kind of swarm. This one of Hot lead as the MAC-10 unloaded its entire magazine of jacketed hollow points into the odd creature in one ruinous cacophony.

It wasn't what the two of them were here for, it'd gotten rid of the body since enter the skylight and meeting them at the front door. The bodies were their main objective after all, and this thing had already served its purpose.

"I wonder what it did with the bodies." Asked the Hive his hands pulling out another stick magazine and shoving it into the bottom of his weapon. "Did it eat them maybe?"

Post by Vexation Mon Aug 01, 2016 1:39 am

The female intruder demanded Klaus's attention at first, rising up to his level, taking an aggressive stance, when the male intruder pulled out an odd device. It was similar to what many of the gifts carried, but Klaus had not seen one used. It unleashed a hail of metal projectiles towards him, but he hardly reacted apart from a slight stumble backwards from the force; Klaus had no pain receptors in his body, so while the projectiles hit and he felt the metal spread in his flesh, it was little more than a mild discomfort. What was happening was the noise, the loud popping and banging of the gun.
Master didn't like noise.
With unnatural speed, it lashed out, hitting the male intruder with the back of his boney claws. It lunged at the female, claws outstretched, aiming for her throat. She was surprisingly nimble, and Klaus found it difficult to grab her. He attempted for some time to slash and grab her, but to little avail; the metal in his flesh made it a bit more difficult to fully swipe correctly, causing his attacks to be slower and less accurate than normal. After a while, he managed to back her against one of the walls and sprinted forward to attempt a lethal strike, when he heard Master.
"CEASE!" He screamed, his shrill voice echoing through the warehouse. Immediately, Klaus froze, holding his posture of aggression mere inches away from the female intruder, but Master had told him to cease.
You will obey my commands.
Slowly, Klaus retracted, returning to his lazing, fully upright posture. Master began hastily making his way down the stairs, running towards Klaus and the female intruder.

Post by Arachna Mon Aug 01, 2016 2:29 am

Arachna watched curiously as Hive decided to cast aside subtlety to embrace destruction, emptying an entire clip of his gun into the creature's body. While the continuous fire kept it at bay and even forced it to flinch, the moment he emptied his clip and loaded a new one the creature used the opportunity to move in for an attack.

It was no surprise that the thing was physically formidable and she soon found herself engaged in a one on one with it. She held her own quite admirably, dodging and weaving in a poetic display as her legs and body danced just out of reach of the flesh golem time and time again.

As she found herself to the wall, two of her additional legs reached up to take hold of the wall, intending to scale up and quickly leap over the creature for her own attack before it had had a chance to react. What happened instead was that both of their attention was drawn to the call of someone else in the building, undoubtedly this thing's master. It was about time...

As the seconds long battle came to an end and her opponent returned to a more idle posture, Arachna scaled the wall of the building to a distance that would ensure that to reach her would mean the thing below would be forced to scale the wall and thereby reduce his combat options and maneuverability.

"Who are you and what is your business in this building?" Arachna inquired in an aggressive tone, intent on being the first to ask questions. She was curious as to the motives of one who employed flesh monsters to do his bidding, but being attacked the moment she tresspassed had made her rather irate.

The thing had almost completely ignored the amount of lead that George had just pumped into it, what the heck was this thing? Most other living creatures would have dropped dead at the perforation. In his surprise and shock The Hive was knocked over by a wild backhand... or back claw whatever one might call the thing's appendage. A little blood issued from his lip where he'd been hit.

Tumbling end over before regained his balance on his knees The Hive pointed his weapon at the creature now in mortal combat with Arachna, he'd not get a good shot without hitting his partner, so he lowered the pistol and turned to the stairs to see the man coming down them ordering everyone to stop what they were doing. Not like it wasn't already loud enough with the gunfire and mortal combat ringing in George's ears.

Then the man took off in a run across the room toward Arachna. George wasn't going to let his partner get double teamed by the monster or its master. So he would intercept the man grabbing him by the collar and pushing him into a ceiling supporting beam and pressing the automatic weapon into his sternum.

"You'd better calm down and answer the lady's question, in a real civilized tone, stranger." George demanded in a growl. He wasn't going to waste words on the obvious 'or else' or 'if she don't like that answer' clichés as having a gun held to your chest was ultimatum enough for any living man.

Sinew let out a choking sound as the man pressed him against the pillar. Klaus immediately started for the aggressor, but Sinew shouted, "NO! Klaus, stand down!" He wasn't going to risk anything; the woman was beautiful, far more so than any other thing he had seen. She was like one of his own works of art, but sculpted with far more care, as though it was by original design, not a blade. Despite his ability to sculpt flesh, the knife always lost that special... touch. He glanced at the man pressing him against the pillar and offered a nervous smile. "S-so sorry about Klaus. He's a little eager is all..." He turned up to face the arachnal woman in all of her sculpted perfection, his eyes alight with wonder and fascination, more likely coming across as obsession. "I-I... My name is Sinew. Sinew Lovecraft. Th-this factory serves as my lab and studio... I'm an artist, you see." He gestured to Klaus. "You've already seen some of my handiwork. Wonderful, isn't he?" He looked back and forth between the two people; the woman was unquestionably perfect, a thing of beauty, whereas this man was painfully average. He even had the gall to attack Klaus in his own home. Were it not for the presence of this goddess, he would assimilate the bastard into his next creation. He looked up to the woman, directing his conversation to that which interested him. "I-I... I can... I can show you, if you want... I have enough clay to make something. I-If you want to, my lady..."

Arachna was glad to see that Hive was still capable of being useful as he leapt out to tackle the enigmatic puppet master and hold him at gun point. With a single move they'd gained the upper hand. ...It almost appeared unnecessary, however, as the man immediately began apologizing and sharing information about himself and it didn't necessarily appear to be under threat of immenent death if he refused to cooperate.

Cautiously, Arachna walked her way back down the wall to join the two men still locked in the rather intimate position of aggression, waving her hand dismissively toward Hive to remove the gun from the man's chest. She didn't really care if he kept the gun out just in case it was still needed, but she'd give this... Sinew character the chance to move freely.

"Your artwork is certainly... unique..." she considered thoughtfully with a few strokes of her chin, lowering herself down from her spider limbs to her human legs now that combat had been averted. "Very well," she agreed with a wicked smile, physically turning him toward the way he'd come and standing at his left side whilst resting a spidery limb over his right shoulder. He appeared to be quite enamored with her and she realized that, but more than simply a means to appear friendly and perhaps even thrill him... she was keeping him in range to deliver a deadly gouge with her mandibles if he dared to order the one he'd called Klaus to attack once again. "I'd love to see what you've been doing here. Please, lead the way."

The Hive was still kind of suspicious this guy as he relented, and started to spill everything. It wasn't until Arachna waved him off that George lowered the pistol and stepped back giving the man space as his partner closed the gap. Arachna was fairly deadly in close range. She obviously had things in hand and this guy was practically drooling over himself just looking at her.

It was the kind of reaction you'd expect from a bug person about another bug person. But this guy claimed to be an artist, though from what George had seen he wasn't too impressed, then again some people pay big for black paint spattered on white canvas. Art was in the eye of the beholder, then again they could both agree that Arachna was attractive, though George doubted it was for the same reasons.

He'd place his weapon back into the leather holster fabricated specifically for it, under his jacket but keep close to the man and Arachna in case he tried anything dirty, even as enamored as he was that could be faked, he knew a lot of psychopaths on the street that could go from love-to-hate at the drop of a hat, and this, Sinew, guy didn't seem to be too far from psychopath.

Post by Vexation Mon Aug 01, 2016 9:43 pm

As Sinew walked, he couldn't help but lightly touch the limb on his right shoulder; it was so wonderfully fashioned, so beautifully crafted... She was a goddess. Even the Rancid Noises seemed to sing in her presence. Up the stairs, around the corner, down the hall, into the office... This is where the Circle was. The room was almost completely empty, save the large, runic circle painted in the middle of the room in blood, a pile of mutilated and useless flesh and bone discarded in the far corner, and next to the circle, two bodies, fully nude and ready for cutting. He looked back at the arachnid beauty and, begrudgingly, pulled himself from her grasp and over to the two bodies. He had to impress with this creation, had to please her. If he didn't please her, she would leave, she would leave him, but he needed her, needed a muse, needed SOMETHING.
With shaky hands, he pulled out the scalpel and began his work, skinning the bodies and carving off unneeded flesh.
The creature needed to be unique, different from their original forms; Klaus was perfect in his own right, but he was still humanoid, and this wouldn't do, not at all. He needed variety, something NEW, something different... A hound, a dog, something that symbolized loyalty, but also strength and lethality.
The process began with arranging the skeleton; the ribcage, human leg bones for the hind legs, human arms for the front ones, but human feet for all four of the feet. The skull needed some reshaping, but Sinew was able to extend the maw by combining both of the lower jaws of the original bodies. A bit of filing of the teeth made them nice and sharp... The entire process of assembling the skeleton took over two and a half hours, but the Silence had settled in rather quickly; he saw nothing, heard nothing, WAS nothing... Nothing but the art before him existed. He would not react to anything the goddess nor the spare would say, and do little more than bat them away with a frustrated "Not now!" should they attempt to touch him as he worked.
Next, setting the flesh. Sewing the muscle together, stitching it back onto the skeleton, it was soothing to the mind as his creation took shape before him. Its legs bizarrely twisted, but beautiful in Sinew's eyes. The hound was large, it would easily be up to Sinew's waist when it stood... And stand it would. Another forty minutes had passed in a blink by the time Sinew finished setting the meat. He rolled the body onto the circle, kissed the beast on the forehead, and whispered, "I name you Baskerville, the Great Hound. You will guard me loyally. You shall kill those who wrongfully intrude my lab. You shall kill those I sic you upon. You shall obey my commands. These are your tenants. Hear them, and rise." The circle began to pulse, and life began flowing into his creation. Sinew stepped back, sitting patiently by the side of the circle; it would be almost twenty minutes before Baskerville rose, but Sinew was patient. Absent mindedly, he reached over to the pile of discarded flesh not used in the hound and picked up a small piece, popping it into his mouth and slowly chewing; the process of fashioning a new work of art was always exhausting, and beauty was regrettably not sustenance enough. He stood and turned to the spider woman; she was still as beautiful as he remembered. A dreamy smile bled across his face as he chewed the raw flesh. "Is it not a thing of beauty? Seeing life fashioned by one's hands?"

So a Spider and an Entomologist Walk Into a Mad Scientist's Lab and... Empty Re: So a Spider and an Entomologist Walk Into a Mad Scientist's Lab and...

Post by Arachna Tue Aug 02, 2016 2:31 am

Arachna followed along, unflinching as Sinew’s hand touched upon her arachnid leg. Once they reached the office, her six eyes traveled across the scene all at once. This ‘art’ of his was starting to look a little satanic. Between the random, bloody flesh parts in the corner, the red circle with unknown markings likely made in more blood at the center and the naked bodies ready to be carved up this entire thing looked like something straight out of an occult horror movie.

As he departed from her company, Arachna silently crossed her arms over her chest and awaited the show. She waited and watched with her normal trademark patience as the man worked slowly and carefully to craft his next masterpiece. She was immediately impressed by the macabre craftsmanship he put into his work and the fact that he was actually reanimating dead flesh to create his monsters. If it wasn’t obvious before that he was gifted with some sort of power, it certainly was now.

She’d make a conscious effort to not disturb his work, pacing about to get a better look at just what he was doing here and there while waiting for that magical moment when a new- …Could it really be considered a life? Either way, she was waiting for that point when he’d use his actual power to bring the thing to life and they’d both see just what it could do.

She watched intently as he finally began to roll the bestial creation into the circle, no doubt where the magic would happen. She tightened her lips in a mild hint of disgust as he actually deigned to kiss the dead flesh. That was a little disconcerting.

Arachna hadn’t expected this to take even longer, waiting patiently yet still while the circle pulsed and appeared to be filling the thing with life. He had even more surprises in store for her as he actually took a bit of the raw, human flesh and popped it into his mouth to gnaw at it idly as if he were simply chewing a stick of gum. Alright, so he wasn’t entirely right in the head, but he appeared to idolize her and had a remarkable ability to create a zombified army. She could definitely deal with that!

“Remarkable…” Arachna marveled once the canine creation actually rose up to its feet of its own power and Sinew returned to speaking to show off his creative power, now using her spider limb to stroke her chin thoughtfully. This could really work out in her favor!

This guy was moving from pretty creepy to rape-o-status, and George knew enough rapists to know that this guy may not have been a sexual predator but he was definitely as far off his gourd. He'd have to remember to not leave Sinew and Arachna alone together or she might eat him.

Of course George would watch the little ritual, becoming bored a few minutes in and quietly dispatching his Dragonflies to scour the area for more interesting happenings. Sitting up against a wall he would also secretly dispatch a long string of army ants on a special mission. If he was going to get a show... even a nightmare fuel show he was going to need snacks, and soda. Even in the goriest setting George could keep his stomach, he considered himself a little odd in that respect. Then again he needed food ALL the time thanks to all his little friends.

Periodically the Dragonflies would return and land on his finger and relay their findings, there wasn't much in the area for findings... except a group of Red Diamonds, getting rowdy and rambunctious. Really none of his business but it was more interesting than watching doctor Frankenstein's monster start to form.

Only a few minutes into setting the flesh the Ants would return, like something out of a Tom and Jerry cartoon, carrying all manner of soda's and chips and candy bars on their backs. The little ants had on their own just knocked over the closest convenience store, and were now dragging the spoils of conquest back to their master, and his friends. The ants would leave their spoils in a pile around the Hive before returning to their place under his skin.

George dug right in silently offering a bag of Doritos and a bottle Mountain Dew to Arachna before digging back into the snacks that'd been pilfered for him. Apparently The Hive wasn't the only hungry one, as he'd witnessed the normally stomach turning act of cannibalism by Sinew.

From his sitting position George held up a bottle of Coke as the man finished his Baskerville hound, and began doting on it in front of his partner, who seemed intruded, it was all boring to The Hive. "Hey doc that seemed pretty raw, Coke?" He mentioned the man's eating flesh before tossing the Coke to the man in an easy underhand arc so it wouldn't get shaken up too badly if the man didn't miss the easy catch.

Sinew awkwardly caught the bottle; it almost slipped out of his hands, still wet from the redness of the clay, but he still was grateful. He needed sugar, he needed energy. He wrenched the top of the bottle off and took a long drink. "Th-thank you..." He muttered. It was cold, refreshing, and invigorating. Sinew turned back to Baskerville, already convulsing from the life entering him. "Remarkable... Yes..." The goddess regained his attention as he turned back to her. "I-I... I..." He stammered, attempting to think of words to say. He needed her to stay, he needed her presence, her inspiration, he needed a muse, on far better than a masked man afraid of the light. But her... Simply looking at her excited his artistic ideas... He would design, fashion, create in her image, but she needed to be around for it. "C-can I have your name?" He finally asked; typical formalities often led to lasting friendships, Sinew remembered. "Y-you have mine, I th-think it's only fair..."

Arachna paid very little mind to Hive’s boredom, only giving him attention once he offered her Doritos and Mountain Dew. Obviously she wasn’t going to turn down free gifts, absently going about eating and drinking even as she finished her observations and Sinew joined them in conversation once again.

“Ah yes…” Arachna considered thoughtfully as Sinew brought up the fact that he’d introduced himself, yet she and her partner hadn’t returned the courtesy. “I suppose I got a bit… caught up in the moment…” She allowed herself a brief chuckle before giving a flourish and polite bow. “You may call me Arachna. My associate here beside me is The Hive. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!”

Going back to snacking wasn't really a hard decision for George as he'd already put his olive branch forward and that was all he would do, he didn't want to be friends with the guy, but he did want things to be cool, it was easier to stay alive when your group wasn't infighting. The tension had been a apparent and now that he'd at least made the effort he could. However having Sinew in the group gave The Hive all the more reason to survive, as he didn't want to become... art.

When he was introduced George didn't stand but simply nodded from his position. He wasn't even sure if Mister Lovecraft would even look at him with how transfixed he was upon Arachna. The Hive would however go back to feeding his flock by munching down the sweet treats. With the way he was going he made the average fat kid look like an amateur.

The last of his Dragonflies would return and George would hold out his hand letting the little bugger land in his palm before receiving it's scouting report, in the non verbal way he'd learned to communicate with them. Without another thought The Hive closed his hand on the wonderful insect and went back to eating, as though the bug in his palm had been sleeved by some magic trick.

Associate? What associate? Sinew thought to himself. He turned his head to the Hive for a moment. Irrelevant spare... He thought to himself. The thought repeated itself, forcing its way through his mouth. "Irrelevant, irrelevant spare..."
He turned his attention back to Arachna and bowed his head slightly. "Th-the pleasure is all mine, I assure you..." He stammered. "I-It has been long since I have seen such beauty not made at my own hands... I-it is always good to have inspiration, to have a muse..."
How forward... The Rancid Noises chittered at Sinew, chiding him like snobby school rivals. Don't scare off the precious prize...
Sinew groaned and ran a shaky hand through his hair. "Shut up..." He muttered under his breath to the Rancid Noises. He focused his attention back to Lady Arachna. "I-I... I hope you wouldn't mind i-if I... I could... Sculpt... For you... A good artist needs his muse, and each muse..." He approaches her, his eyes alight with inspiration and obsession; he held his hands towards her, not offering them to hold, more like a critic viewing a wonderful piece. "N-needs a good artist."
Why would someone want to be the muse to such a freak? The Rancid Noises hissed. Bloody, corrupted, twisted. Abomination and deviant.
"Sh-shut up!" He snarled, louder now. "I-I am MIRACULOUS! I will prove it!"
Baskerville twitched and rolled onto his deformed legs, slowly rising up. He shook his head and let out a bizarre, human yet inhuman snarl, sensing his maker's aggression... Baskerville was alive and ready. "I-I... Can show you how effective they are... I-I can!" He stepped towards her, firmly taking her perfect hands into his blood-covered ones, staring up at her with a crazed smile full of yellowed and bloody teeth. "I-If you will let me... P-please... I see beauty in your flesh, I see beauty in you... I beg you to give me this chance..."

Post by Arachna Wed Aug 03, 2016 2:49 am

Arachna’s brow raised slightly in confusion as Sinew muttered something about a spare while looking at Hive. It appeared that the man’s psychosis went still deeper than she’d originally imagined upon first getting a taste of his personality.

“You flatter me so boldly,” Arachna commented with a sly playfulness. “If you keep this up you may just see me blush.” She tilted her head curiously as what appeared to be the mouthed words ‘shut up’ came from the man’s lips. Her expression slowly tightened into something sterner. She’d assumed that he’d react better to the carrot, but perhaps she was sparing too much of the stick to keep him under her thrall.

His sudden outburst was surprising considering she hadn’t actually responded with anything this time, staggering backward a step in shock before retaking and holding her ground with an expression somewhere between concern and growing annoyance at this man’s chaotic antics. She almost withdrew as he took her hands in his, their physical union dripping blood onto the dirty floor as he practically begged her to give him a chance and let him in. He nigh worshipped her as some sort of goddess, a creation beyond anything he could ever make alone. While certainly flattering and spoke leagues about his future loyalty to her cause, Arachna was no longer ready to simply welcome him into the fold with open arms. Now he would need to…

“Prove yourself. Prove your loyalty and power to me and you will belong forever at my side. Fail and you will only hope to ever see my form again in your vaguest dreams.” Her expression remained stern now, demanding that this newest possible recruit to her cause prove his worth to her.
