George Moran - The Hive M_7e7ea1119c7eaa90d78cb1f08569ec66

General Information

Name: George Moran
Alias: The Hive (The Human Hive)
Age: 21
Gender/Sex: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Height: 5'10 or 1.77m
Weight: 175lbs or 79.3kg

Behavioral Information

Alignment: Evil ;; Neutral ;; Nice
Personality: George is out for himself, and will partner up with anyone who helps him get ahead, either in the short run or the long term. He's a survivor and will do anything to keep on surviving.

Likes: Money, Alcohol, Cigarettes, Insects, Creepy Crawlies

Dislikes: Police or Authority in general, High society types, Peppermint

Background
George was a street kid, one of Ruby cities own, his parents were part time workers and full time drug addicts leaving the kid to do what he wanted when he wanted practically without any parenting and supervision, dropping out of school early the boy turned to a life of petty street crime as a thug and pickpocket even going so far as knocking over the occasional mini-mart or gas station.

George has friends in the criminal underworld of Ruby city, and as an adult started taking jobs from many of them, but prefers to work alone or at his own pace, as it was easier to not be backstabbed by someone greedy, something that's nearly happened to him on a few occasions when he was more innocent.

Always having been compared to a cockroach, George has taken survival to a whole new level, the young man makes his life in on the streets of Ruby city, and talks about the big break and moving up in the world with his first big score, but when asked he quietly changes the subject.

It was only recently that George discovered his relationship with insects, he'd never been bothered by the critters before, the irritating bugs simply ignored him and George chalked it up to good luck. However this was not the case when he found bugs crawling into and out of holes in his skin,  and realized that there were bugs that nested inside his body. Believing he would die George panicked, but after a visit to a doctor realized that the there were a lot more bugs inside of him than he'd realized and that they were living symbiotically with him.

Soon George realized he could communicate with the bugs and make them do as he pleased, knocking over a few minimarts without ever needing to hold a gun, and getting some street cred for himself.

Superhuman Information

Power Holder?: Yes

Arthropodadomum: George's body is a living hive for many types of insects, who enter and exit his body through enlarged pores in his skin, he can also communicate with his insects, through pheromones, verbal, somatic or tactile means, that are housed in his body, giving them basic commands or receiving information from them, but the only command he can give when the insects are away from him is the 'Return' command even then the insects must be within line of sight.Though the Honey Bees sustain themselves George has to eat more to maintain his colony of little critters. Most other Insects and Arachnids are also attracted to George and don't attack him without a lot of provocation.

For now George's arsenal of bugs contains:
20 North American Wasps
10 Americanized Honey Bees and 1 Queen
100 Dog Fleas
200 Sugar Ants
5 Dragon Flies
5 House Spiders

Alright, time for the Power Breakdown.

Arthropodadomum
Pros
Can Store Bugs inside himself and control them with pheromones. (Controlled Summon Type Power) (Major)
Variable (Insects and Arachnids) (Major)
Can communicate with the insects fluently. (Minor)
Can gain some nutrition from the insects' food supplies. (Insuffient to sustain self entirely) (Minor)
At peace with bugs. (Minor)

Cons
Can only control bugs that live in him (Limited Supply) (Major)
Bugs live inside him. (Minor)

This power needs another major downside, as well as another couple of minir drawbacks.

One major flaw I would recommend is "Must be in contact to give commands", which means they will carry out your orders when they are in or on you, but you have to touch them in order to change those orders if they are the like of "attack"

A minor flaw I would recommend would be flipping the Honeybee Nutrition benefit on its head, and have the insects rely on you for nutrients, making your character need to eat more, rather than less.

Then again... you could have the bugs not necessarily be friendly with one another, which would be a minor flaw, since that hardly affects you at all.

I wish to note that you cannot start with any poisonous insects/arachnids or those that have "unique defense mechanisms" (malaysian exploding ant) or particularly hard shells (like stag beetles). You may purchase access to bugs with those capabilities with single points, for future reference.

Blah, blah, starting older doesn't give you more skill, experience, or points for and with your Power than any 14 or 15 year old. You cool with that?

If so, say so, and make some edits to the power. Remember, one major flaw, and at least two minor flaws (or flip one of your minor benefits to a flaw to cover them both).

Good with the age thing.

Was trying to word it so that it was already "Must be in contact to give commands" added clarifying language, and a ranged recall command. (Major Flaw)

Flipped the sustenance trait on it's head, excluding the Honey Bees.(Minor Flaw)

I'm keeping venomous bugs, but changed out the Hobos for a lesser venomous spider. Will purchase more venomous and strange bugs later.

If you wish to have Venomous bugs, I'll allow it but you'll need another major flaw, because Venom is a major upside.

Furthermore, for every venomous insect specify relevent debuff amounts.

For reference, a typical poison power will totally disable a normal human and tear up an equal-leveled power user when its maximum dosage is applied, so give an amount of debuff for all of the venomous insect in your posession. For example, a strength debuff would knock 500 off if what the victim can lift if all 5 spiders bit. Each poison will have a 2 post circulation delay to take hold. This would use up the spiders' poison for a while (at least the scene in question), but you could split it up by the spider (100 lbs per spider). When you gain points and spend them, you can have more of the spiders, or a more potent poison, not both (increase one amount instead of both, the effect is basically indistinguishable either way).

You alright with these stipulations? If so, make appropriate edits.

Feel free to PM me for information on a specific poison you wish to have.

George Moran - The Hive Empty Re: George Moran - The Hive

I deliberately chose a spider and bees with a painful but not debilitating poison, for balancing reasons. I would use extra points to change out the spider/venom for just that reason, going from painful to debilitating, to risking death. Is that passable?

Painful poisons are still poisons, just a different type.

So in this case you'd be having a Major perk that is Painful Poisons from some of your bugs. Pain from the poisons is like a damage-over-time effect, with a painful feeling on par with X (X being the amount is feels like, a minor wound type like a shallow cut, or a bruise) with a maximum doseage being on par with a slightly worse wound type (low caliber bullet wound, low wattage electric shock). You could spend points from then on to make debilitating poisons (such as the one I presented earlier), and perhaps later on that genetically tweaking the poisons to have spiders have different poisons than they should, stronger doses, bugs that can give partial doses, etc etc.

The poison's potency will double every point you spend of Arthropodadomum (like any amount), so 'risking death' will come in time anyways.

I changed the bees and spiders to less venomous varieties, ineffective against humans barring an allergic reaction.

Alright then.

I apologize for the scrutiny involved with this particular power. I've learned from my time playing tabletop RPGs with my nerd friends that Bugs are some of the most dangerous living things that can be conceptually expanded upon. This power is hells of dangerous as it stands, especially with that large number of blood-sucking dog-fleas.

But I can't restrict too hard, so I'll leave those be unless they get out of hand.

This character is...

APPROVED
