“you sure you’re up to this kid?” The man next to her asked, as Aella watched the current fighters going at it in the center area of the warehouse. She gave him a grin as she watched the two, both of whom seemed high on strength, and more than a little tough, though their actual skill left something to be desired. Still she wasn’t going to fight either of these guys anyways, she was in the next fight against someone she’d been looking forward to going up against

“Relax, I haven’t lost to any of you guys yet.” She remarked as the crowds cheered when one fighter got a particularly solid hit on his opponent. She spotted the guy who ran the fight ring to the side, of the “ring.” One of his men off with a ground of onlookers collecting bets, both on this fight and the next. The boss of the fight ring was a man known to everyone in the room as The Jester. While she didn’t like some of the rumors she’d heard about the guy, she wanted to fight and being here gave her the chance to do it. He appeared to be walking around the place at the moment, from crowd to crowd mostly and had only just come down a metal staircase that led up to the catwalk.

The fight club’s ringleader was somewhat well dressed, and not really built in a way that resembled a fighter, from what she understood he wasn’t really. Some kind of mobster or something from what she’d heard, or rather a former mobster. Aella didn’t really notice too much else, her attention moving to the person waiting on the other side of the ring. Her future opponent apparently. She just hoped they put up as good of a fight as their reputation said they would.

Goetia, currently under the guise of Carnage, navigated his way around some of the alleyways in East Diamond.  He knew exactly where he needed to go.  He had memorized every pebble along the way, as were his instructions from the Matron.  He eventually came up to an indistinct building with a gruff man loitering out front.  Carnage would recognize this man was actually a guard.  He walked up to the door, garbed in black, mask and hood completely covering all views of his head, and stopped a few feet before it.  The guard regarded him.  "The hell's with that creepy mask of yers?"  Carnage ignored the question, pointing to the door with his finger-less gloves.  The guard understood he knew.  He looked down the claustrophobic street, making sure they weren't being watched.  "No weapons allowed, tall dark and creepy.  Arms up."  Carnage complied as the guard did a quick pat down, finding nothing.  He looked down the streets again before giving Carnage the pass to enter.  The immediate inside was dark and rotting.  Just passed the entrance was a long hallway.  At the end he found a room with a staircase leading down.  He could finally see light shining from below.

He descended, hearing excited cheers and screams.  At the bottom, he found a black door and pushed it open.  Light and sound poured out.  Carnage entered and let the door swing shut behind him.  Most people didn't notice him with all the excitement.  Those who did regarded him strangely, likely for his getup.  However, most brushed it aside and continued what they were doing.  He could see a young girl talking to a man by the ring.  She was younger than she expected someone here to be.  Not that it mattered.  That sort of thing wasn't too uncommon in the east.  He returned to scanning the room when he finally spotted who he was looking for.  The man stood out from the crowd almost as much as Carnage did.  He didn't look fit to be a fighter, and was dressed too well to be a competitor.  This was the man who people around here called The Jester.  This man was the target the Matron had assigned to him.  She wanted him dead.  This operation he was running gave him access to a bit too much information.  Stealth was not a requirement.

Carnage watched as he moved among the crowds, observing a pattern.  As he saw him begin to leave one group he began walking as casually as he could.  He couldn't help but feel his eagerness bubbling in his stomach, but his mask wouldn't let it show.  He kept his eyes glued to The Jester and his movements, approaching from the side.  The veins on his hands began to pop out and his fingers repeatedly convulsed as they morphed into something akin to elongated knives.  Blooded pumped uncomfortably through his arms, his excited heartbeat only making the pains come quicker, but that only got him more excited.  His arms hung lump at his sides, hands almost completely hidden by his sleeves.  Soon he would be upon his prey.

Still Worth Fighting For Empty Re: Still Worth Fighting For

Post by Whirlwind on Wed Feb 06, 2019 8:29 pm

The fight going on came to an end, as one of the fighters finally was taken down by a strong punch that appeared to render him unconscious. He was moved out of the way, the other fighter walking out of the ring to collect whatever reward he would be getting for winning after the “ref” namely the man next to Aella went through the routine of announcing herself and the other fighter. They waited a short time between the fights to allow bets to be cast, and then the ref guy gave them both the go to continue. Aella’s opponent was a man known for fighting in these sorts of circle, he was taller than her, giving him the reach advantage but Aella knew there was more to a real fight than just size and reach.

The fight began in earnest, with the other fighter stepping in to try to get a preemptive strike on her, a well performed punch that probably would have taken a less experienced fighter by surprise with how quickly it was thrown, right at the start. Only Aella was already in her stance, blocking with her forearm, knocking the arm to the side a bit before grabbing it just past the elbow, her knee coming up to strike her opponent in the chest and hopefully knock the wind out of him. She was only partly successful, and suddenly found herself thrown instead by her opponent, who obviously had an edge when it came to actual physical strength. The Muay Thai fighter grinned, feeling the adrenaline of a true fight, though a sight in the crowd near distracted her. Some guy in a weird mask. It was strange enough to be distracting, but not so strange it immediately set off any red flags, and Aella’s attention returned to the fight at hand almost as soon as she’d really given him any thought.

The Jester meanwhile had moved closer to the side of the ring, talking to another man in a suit all the while, the two talking business primarily. The man would have stood out in this particular crowd, had he not been with the Jester. As it was nobody really paid the two any mind, and there would be no guards within range to notice Carnage’s growing claws, or to get between the hitman and his prey in time to stop the villain.

Still Worth Fighting For Empty Re: Still Worth Fighting For

Post by Beldyr on Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:45 pm

Carnage approached his target, not particularly hiding himself.  He approached at an odd enough angle that it didn't necessarily look like he was heading for the Jester.  His mask obstructed any facial features he was making as well as where his eyes were directed.  He could feel his hands beginning to relax, the convulsions finally stopping.  He flexed his fingers, readjusting to their feeling and accounting for the extra weight they now had.  There was another fight ongoing at the time.  Apparently that young girl he saw before was participating.  He paid only enough attention to the fight to identify how long it was lasting.  Carnage also took note of how almost no one had their attention on his target.  This was good and better allowed for his surprise attack.

Carnage slowly approached his prey, his heartbeat speeding dangerously fast.  Were it not for the excitement of the match he would be sure everyone would hear it.  He slowed to a stop just before the Jester, the man he was talking to a bit to the side.  The Jester finally took notice of him and turned his head towards his ominous figure.  He suddenly felt a thump on his stomach.  He looked down to see a draped appendage sticking out from his gut.  He followed it back up to the masked mans shoulder, finally beginning to comprehend what had happened.  He was in shock, he could hardly utter a scream.  The man with him didn't have time to react.  The Jester could feel a squirming in his stomach as the hand embedded in him began rummaging around.  The Jester felt another thump as Carnage's other hand impaled him as well.  He could feel every motion of the hands turning in his stomach to face palms outward.

Finally, in one quick motion, Carnage flung his arms away from each other, nearly bisecting the Jester.  He would not die immediately, but there was almost nothing that could save him now.  He began gargling and blood flowed from his mouth as he began to fall.  This was undoubtedly the worst pain he had ever felt in his life, yet he could not scream.  The man who was with his did it for him.  It was shrill, and juxtaposed to the mans appearance.  You'd think it was some little girl.  As the Jester was falling, Carnage quickly reached into the gaping hole and pulled out strands of intestines, wrapping them around the other mans neck and then feeding the ends into his mouth before pulling, causing him to choke.  Whether this one died or not didn't matter.  He had done his job.  All that happened from then on would be a bonus.

The fight had been going intensely enough, continuing on without either fighter really getting and keeping the upper hand, while Aella knew she was coming out slightly better than her opponent, it was more or less a slight difference. The fight was promising to be a good one so far, at least until a shrill scream from the right of her interrupted it, not nearly like the more energetic cheers or jeers of the crowd. Both fighters found themselves turning to see what was going on, only to be met with the gruesome display the masked man was putting on.

One man dead, or far enough along the line to not matter, and another in the process of being choked out with the first one’s remnants. It seemed a sight more out of a horror movie to Aella. Even as she could feel her stomach churn at the brutal murder, the fighter knew what she had to do. Her opponent, and many of the others around were either dumbstruck, or having concluded they’d rather be anywhere BUT here. Not as much for fear of the masked man, so much as the knowledge that police would see this as FAR more serious than just some illegal fight club. Nobody wanted to get caught up in an actual murder case if they could help it. Aella meanwhile had a different idea of what to do in this kind of situation, instead finding herself running towards the scene. Jumping at the man, her knee coming up while midair to slam into his side. Aella just hoped she could hit him with enough force to break him away from the other man before he could claim another victim.

“Let go of him!” The fighter would yell out, regaining a ready stance, an intense look in her eye as she glared at the murderer. Whether she succeeded in freeing the man or not, or even if she somehow failed to hit Carnage, she would undoubtedly have caught his attention with that.

Still Worth Fighting For Empty Re: Still Worth Fighting For

As Aella was preparing to jump at Carnage, his head turned eerily slow to face her.  She could not see his eyes behind the mask, but she could be sure he was staring at her.  He watched her as she came at him, strangely calm, and made to move to avoid the attack.  The knee made contact at his lower left rib-cage, causing his body to jump sideways and bend at the point of impact.  He let go of the intestines smoothly, as if he let them go on purpose.  He held his crooked stance for a few moments, oddly still.  Carnage made a sound similar to that of a sigh of relief.  However, through the voice changer in his mask, the sound that would be heard was almost like a threatening growl.  It was higher pitched and had an echo to it, creating a sense of disjointedness.

Carnage abruptly righted himself with a loud snap, as if a bone had just jumped back into place.  He let out a prolonged breath, once again altered by the voice changer.  He tilted his head as he looked at her.  He raised hands as the blood coating them began dripping down to the floor.  He flicked his hands, splattering most of the loose liquid in streaks on the ground before he started stepping towards Aella.  "Well, I let go."  The voice was a tenor and had an echo. He was getting closer to Aella. "What now?"  He flashed his claws.  No matter how skilled one was at fighting, having a weapon always gave a distinct advantage.  Especially one you couldn't disarm.

Aella’s gaze hardened on the masked man, mind breaking down potential fighting style information and what she could tell about him. She was already in a stance, ready to react at a moment’s notice if this guy went on the attack. It was likely his fighting would emphasize using those claws, which appeared to actually be part of his hands, rather than any sort of external weapon. That ruled out the easiest way to normally handle a weapon user, namely by disarming them as quickly as possible. He didn’t seem to move like a trained fighter, though he likely knew how to use those claws of his competently enough, if he was willing to show up at a place like this, where experienced fighters were undoubtedly going to be present.

“Don’t suppose you’ll just give up and go turn yourself into the police.” She asked, rhetorically as she looked him over. He was definitely on the taller side, though not necessarily burly as much. Either way between the claws and his height he had an advantage in reach, she’d have to be careful. Most would probable think of her stance as similar to a boxer stance, though with her hands higher, her guard seemingly focused on her head, her knees bent somewhat. One not familiar with Muay Thai might assume it was a boxer’s stance, albeit one that was definitely off. She’d decided she’d open up the fight, since she couldn’t exactly wait for him to attack her.She closed some of the distance by feinting another kick, near mirroring her previous technique with the exception the actual attack didn’t come. She’d be just far enough she could hopefully avoid or interrupt any sort of counter attack, landing and instead kicking the guy’s right side, her arm moving up to guard her body near reflexively as she made the attempted kick. She was wary of his claws at the moment, all too aware of the advantage they might give her opponent. The kick was aimed directly for the more exposed area of the guy’s side, just to the side of the ribcage. Hopefully her opponent’s guard would be focused on what had appeared a frontal attack, enough so she hoped targeting his side would be a bit more effective.

Still Worth Fighting For Empty Re: Still Worth Fighting For

Post by Beldyr on Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:12 am

The vaguest sound of a laugh escaped from behind the mask at Aella's rhetorical question.  Naturally, he had no intention of going to the police, willingly or unwilling.  He continued to watch the girl, waiting to see what she would do.  She evidently decided to take the initiative and rushed him.  Similar to her knee attack, he made no move to dodge her attack, and inadvertently not falling for the feint.  As her real attack came at his right side, he rushed in closer to her, trying to get right up in front of her, claws pointed directly at her arms she was using to guard herself.  As a result of him dashing in, the kick only partially succeeded.  He had moved passed the foot and instead the knee once again made contact with his side.  However, as the rotational force from the knee would be much less than from the foot, the damage was drastically reduced.  After it impacted his side, another relieved growl came from the mask.  His claws came in directly at her arms, intent on skewering them.

Aella thought at first the guy must be some kind of crazy, or had seen through her feint only to learn otherwise when he seemed to more or less charge through her kick. He seemed to be forgoing defense in favor of trying to cause more damage. She leaned sideward, recovering from the kick mid dodge, the claws still grazed her right arm, leaving a shallow, painful cut across the arm. Still she wasn’t going to waste the opportunity. Presented to herself, her leg shooting out to sweep her opponent’s feet out from under him.

She would push him in the same direction, turning the desperate dodge into something more resembling a throw, using her opponent’s larger size to her advantage by simply applying added weight to the direction he’d already had to be leaning. The physical gap between the two of them was rather wide, considering her opponent was essentially armed, adding to his already greater reach.

Still Worth Fighting For Empty Re: Still Worth Fighting For

Post by Beldyr on Sun Feb 10, 2019 5:26 pm

Carnage was about to impale Aella's forearms when she dodged at the last second.  She was surprisingly fast.  Though that should sort of be expected from a smaller target.  He turned his head when she moved, keeping his eyes fixed on her.  As a result, he was able to mostly dodge the sweeping attack at his legs, but they threw his off balance enough for her to be able to successfully throw him.  If he wasn't already in forward motion it would have been quite difficult for her to do this, but as it was, he was flung rather easily.  Instead of trying to fight it, he let himself fly with it and tucked his head in, landing first on his upper back and the rolling to lose the momentum.  He quickly righted himself and turned back to face Aella, one knee still on the ground.  He used the momentum of pushing himself to his feet to rush at her, claws out.  Once he was within his range but still out of hers, he made a series of three slashes from alternating hands, first from the right, then the left, then his right hand swinging back to his right side.  Immediately after this, he spun around to her side, hoping to catch her off guard and aimed a piercing strike right for her shoulder.  Whether she noticed it or not, none of the attacks he made went for fatal spots.  He was playing with her, enjoying a little scuffle.

This guy was a bit on the strange side, he seemed to just let her throw him, rather than put up any real resistance. Still it gave a second to think while he recovered, and hopefully she’d find some way of taking this guy down. He’d already killed one person and attempted to kill another. She did note, when  his swipes came in, he didn’t seem to be targeting anywhere necessarily lethal. Though the clawed swipes did require her to dodge back. The reach advantage making things more difficult, she dodged the first two strikes easily, though having to give ground, she knew she'd have to be careful about that.

The change in direction opened up opportunity though, and Aella was too distracted by taking advantage of that opportunity. Grabbing her opponent and driving her knee into his stomach. She almost didnt notice the sudden sharp pain in her shoulder, though once she did her eyes widened. Cringing as she felt the pain increase.

Whether he was simply aiming for a spot that wouldnt permanently disable her, or if shed just gotten lucky was unknown. At the moment any thoughts on the matter were dismissed under the fog of pain. Aella cried out in pain, stumbling back slightly as her hand reached up to the wound
Coming back somewhat bloody.

The strike has avoided anywhere vital, and hopefully it wasnt too deep. Either way Aella knew she was in trouble here.

Carnage let out a grunt as the knee connected with his gut.  He was doubled over slightly, but he smiled as his attack was successful.  As Aella jumped back, the tips of his claws came free of her shoulder.  As planned, he hadn't hit anything that would do her permanent damage, and it wasn't that deep, but it would probably impair her ability to fight in the moment.  Carnage held up his claw, some of Aella's blood drizzling down his fingers.  He rubbed his fingers on that hand together, as if curiously feeling a strange substance.  He played with it for a few moments before turning back to face Aella, almost expectantly.

He straightened himself and flicked the blood from his hand.  "You're a pretty good fighter, girl.  Though you still need to learn what fights to pick and what to leave alone.  I'm surprised you lasted this long in East Diamond if you don't know that.  Unless..."  Carnage jolted forward and abruptly stopped just out of reach, "You aren't from around here are you.  Central perhaps?  My my, what a rebel.  Kids like you really shouldn't be wandering around a dangerous place like this.  You never know what could be waiting for you."  Carnage's fingers twitched back and forth in eagerness at his sides.  He made no move to attack, but he looked like he could pounce at any moment.

Aella could feel the blood running down her arm, glaring at the villain as she attempted to block out the pain from the wound. It was a stark reminder that she wasn’t well suited for this type of fight, the difference in reach and lethality being the largest handicap for her at the moment. Not only was this guy tall, his claws only added to the existing difference in reach. She was more than aware fighting would only aggravate the injury, but it wasn’t like she had much choice.

She let out a breath when he started talking, stiffening at his guess of where she was from. It wasn’t really correct, but the simple fact he’d figured out so quickly that she wasn’t from this area of the city was more than a bit unnerving. “I don’t really care about the opinion of some psycho like you.” She growled back, suddenly striking out again. She was about to rush him, injury be damned when the sound of sirens nearby came. While she herself hadn’t done much wrong, the idea of having to explain why she was her gave Aella some pause. It sounded like the police were on their way there.

Carnage made no move to dodge when Aella came in for another attack and just smiled beneath his mask.  Before it could make contact he heard a muffled alarm.  The police, huh?  Looks like I played around here for a bit too long.  Carnage retracted his claws, returning them to regular human hands in finger-less gloves.  His fingers twitched involuntarily and his arms hung limp at his sides.  He leapt into a silent sprint and made his way up the metal stairs to the catwalk.  He was headed for another exit he had scouted out before he had come.  Carnage would not stop for the girl and swiftly made his way until he made his escape.  He would report to the Matron that he had succeeded in his assassination.
