Retaliation Empty Retaliation

Post by JollyLabyrinth Thu Sep 01, 2016 12:32 am

It had been three weeks since Mute's death, and Sam decided it was time to get back home. There was no way he was still being tracked, and even if he wasn't in shape to fight, he'd at least be able to do something for Typhon. His left shoulder was dislocated due to his reckless actions in the drug raid gone wrong, so his left arm was up in a sling while it healed. He felt it wasn't necessary, but it was a good reminder for him not to use it, so he didn't take it off.
What excited Sam most about returning was that the fight club was officially being reopened in Typhon's name. The men who were previously part of the Red Diamonds were excited to see their favorite pastime returning, and Charon was even going to be fighting in the opening night. While Sam knew how vicious of a fighter he was, Sam wanted to know exactly what his leader could do, just in case he decided to pursue the title of "champion". Even with the ring's new rule of "No powers allowed", Sam still felt he could take on just about anyone in the ring.
He entered the fight club, and things were already in full swing. Charon was sitting down on the stool in one corner, burns covering his upper torso, and one of Sam's old buddies from Father's old gang was in the other corner. Everything seemed so familiar to Sam; even rat-face was energetically introducing the next fight. He couldn't help but smile at the nostalgia. It's good to be home. He thought. He stopped by the man taking wagers, put some money on Charon, grabbed a drink, and sat on one of the chairs near the back, sitting on the head of the chair and having his feet on the seat to have a good view of the fight. If there's one thing he learned from the ring, it's that front row seats meant getting teeth in your eyes.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by Charon Thu Sep 01, 2016 1:40 am

Charon was just breathing slowly, feeling the adrenaline start to kick in as the thrill of the fight was starting to kick in. The fight hadn't started yet, but Charon knew it was coming. Charon had taken Sam's advice and decided to re instigate the fight club, something that would help booster morale and show the men that their leader wasn't afraid to get his own hands dirty from time to time. Charon decided to forego his usual jacket and shirt, instead just keeping his black pants and mask only for the fight. At Charon's request, Dynamite by ACDC was playing when the fight began.

Eventually, Rat-face started to introduce both fighters, cheers coming from both sides. A few boos were thrown at his opponent, but everyone seemed to agree that booing Charon would be a bad idea. Despite the fact that Charon wasn't cruel to his own men, there were a few who had yet to work closely with him and mainly had the image of Lazy Eye's corpse as a reminder of what he was capable of. Charon stood up, his fists covered in black bandages to make sure his knuckles or fingers didn't get too damaged in the fight.

The makeshift bell was rung and the music started to play loud enough to encourage the crowd to yell and cheer at the top of their lungs. Charon and his opponent both moved forward. His opponent swung, causing Charon to duck and avoid the hit before coming back up with a square punch to the man's jaw. He fell back a step but didn't lose his footing as he moved back in and launched a few punches at Charon. The blows landed, though Charon used his own arm to try and block or soften most of the blows. Charon found it a little difficult to move completely freely right now.

The massacre at the bar hadn't gone perfectly. Charon's jacket had been lit on fire but he hadn't removed it before damage was done. The few burns on his body weren't enough to cripple him, but when Charon moved in certain ways he certainly felt it. Charon did his best to limit his movements, mainly ducking or keeping his opponent on defense with each attack.

Finally, the fight came to an end as Charon launched a hard punch in to the man's face, downing him as he signaled that he gave up. Charon had made sure the fight club was back, but he also made it clear that his men were expected to perform. He didn't want anyone losing too much blood or getting any broken bones from these fights. The crowd cheered as Charon helped his opponent up and over to the medics. Charon himself walked back over to his corner, grabbing a water bottle and just pouring it over his face. Fighting in this mask was hot!

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by V.Carnage Thu Sep 01, 2016 2:35 am

Mammon had not taken too lightly to the recent attack on one of their favorite hangouts.  While Mammon certainly had no shortage of men and resources, an attack of that magnitude certainly required retaliation.  Simon would make sure the new Red Diamonds ended up just like the old ones in due time.  Now was the time to make them realize that.  If things went as planned, it would be a slaughter.  And if they were lucky, they would get a few officers too.  They wouldn't even see what hit them.  Word was that the old underground fighting ring was just getting started up again.  Of course, the words came from some poor Typhon grunts now toothless mouth, but still.  Mammon would get rid of any and all hope they had, and Simon knew just the man to get the job done.

A man standing about six feet with brown hair styled short, similar to that of the military, walked calmly down the alleyways.  Behind him, two dozen well trained fighters and shooters, ready for the assault.  All of them wore Kevlar body suits, and were geared up with an assortment of assault rifles, shotguns and pistols, all provided by Mammon's personal armory.  The man at the front, Corry, only carried a serrated blade for clutch situations.  He wore a stern, serious look at all times, staring straight ahead.  The plan had been laid out long before so there was no need for words.

When they got close, they moved much more stealthily.  They crept around the back entrance of the fight club, aiming to sneak in from the back.  One of the men lightly jiggled the handle.  It was locked, as to be expected.  He immediately stepped away as Corry moved to the door, removing his glove.  He put his hand near the handle and lock.  Slowly, the locks in the door began to melt, a quiet sizzling all that could be heard.  Corry put up his hand in a signal, two men stepped up, pistols ready with silencers attached.  They pushed open the door and rushed in, entering the kitchen.  There were a few enemies there, but they were quickly and silently gunned down before being able to sound any sort of alarm.  The rest of the men filed in as Corry took up the rear and closing the partially melted door behind him.  He moved to the center of the room and turned his attention to a door that, based off the loud cheers that could be heard, lead to the main area.

Corry signaled to his men again, and pointed at the door.  They checked, and confirmed crowds of men enjoying a good brawl, betting on the winner.  It would be their last.  One of the men looked over to Corry, who gave a nod in return.  The man pulled out a grenade and pulled the pin, rolling it into the crowd.  Two more men did the same, throwing the grenades in different locations.  They immediately closed the door and braced for the coming explosions.  Once they felt all three, they immediately burst into the room, guns blazing.  Gunning down anyone and anything moving.  Corry didn't move in quite yet, waiting calmly in the kitchen for the opportune moment.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Sam applauded as the fight ended, and walked up to Charon, placing a hand on his shoulder as he opened his mouth to congratulate him. Before he could speak, however, he heard something coming from the back room. No, "heard" wasn't the right term... It was more felt. Heartbeats, a lot of them from the kitchen. Far more than were normally back there, and they were beating fast, like people ready for hell. The door opened slightly, and Sam saw the grenades tossed into the room. A lot of people were about to die, and there was no saving them, but as the new right hand man of Typhon, it was Sam's job to keep Charon alive. "FUCKING SCATTER!" He screamed to patrons, and roughly grabbed Charon, shoving him to the floor to try and reduce any blast damage to him. The grenades went off, and blood and body parts went flying everywhere. Hell was come, and it came fast. Crouched next to the bar, the first several men didn't notice Sam and Charon, but the first one that did didn't get much of a chance to enjoy the situation. Sam lunged forward, wrenching his left arm free from the sling, and jammed his right fist into his throat, crushing his windpipe instantly. He grabbed one of the men who was further in the bar by the back of his kevlar suit, and chucked him into his friends who were pouring in. Having bought a few extra seconds, he picked Charon up off the ground and pushed him towards the door. "Get the fuck out of here, Typhon needs you alive." He snapped, turning back to the oncoming opponents, hardening his blood against any coming attacks. The survivors of the initial blast were reeling, but slowly coming to their senses, many pulling out their handguns and firing on the invaders.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by Charon Thu Sep 01, 2016 3:05 am

The explosion was loud, killing any cheers or music that could be heard before. Charon wasn't caught in the blast enough for his body to be torn apart, but he was close enough to be sent flying and landing on his back. No, that was Sam who had done that. The entire sound in the room just went blank for a moment despite Charon seeing just how many men were pouring it, this was immediately followed by a high pitched sound; the after effect of any explosion. Charon grabbed his head in pain before forcing himself up. He didn't need to be in this life to know something was wrong, and he immediately saw what it was.

Before Charon could react he felt Sam pushing him away towards the door, telling him to abandon the men and live to fight another day. Had this been the Charon Sam had met a few months ago, Charon likely would have listened and fled to fight another day. Charon's men were being slaughtered before his eyes though, and Charon couldn't let that go unpunished. He would not be seen as a coward. "I'm not going anywhere" Charon said before grabbing his jacket and swinging it over his body. He was behind the bar and fire wasn't being concentrated to him at this point. It was time to make these enemies second guess themselves. "Sam, do as much damage as you can right now" Charon said as he gripped the mask. Sam knew what would come next.

Charon ripped his mask off, his scarred face revealed to the entire room. Everyone would feel the effect, unfortunately Charon's own men would feel this although a few had experienced it enough to keep fighting. This mainly was Sam, who had fought through the effects of Charon's power before. Charon was hoping that the fear in the invaders would be enough for Sam to keep fighting and either kill more of them, or at least but enough time for the men to escape or fight back.

Charon pulled out his double barreled pistol and started firing, aiming at the heads of any invader he could. He fired quickly though and his head was still ringing from the explosion, sadly making his aim likely too inaccurate.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by V.Carnage Thu Sep 01, 2016 3:50 am

The men were causing absolute chaos, murdering everything in sight.  A few of them dying was to be expected, but how quickly the enemy reacted to take them out would surprise Corry were he actually looking.  But he wasn't.  He remained in the kitchen, listening to the sweet melody of death.  Corry was not a sadistic man; he took no pleasure in the agonizing screams of his victims.  All it was to him was the sound of everything going according to plan.

That's when it happened.  A sudden pressure filled the air causing Corry to tense up.  All of the remaining attack forces consisting of just over twenty felt the fear creep into their vision.  Some turned wild, firing more wildly than before, another just stood there, dazed for a moment, while the rest became more attentive to their surroundings, looking around more and firing less.  This would allow some of Charons shots to graze the invaders.  Paranoia filled Corry's mind and he began looking around wildly, searching for the source of the maniacal cackling he heard in his mind.  His breathing turned heavy and his eyes were wide.

Until the realization hit him.  So this is what it was, huh?  I guess the intel we got was pretty accurate after all.  Corry laughed to himself as the blackness in his vision began to fade, and clarity returned to his mind as he discovered the source of the anomaly.  The majority of the men too, realized what was wrong, recalling what Corry had told them before the mission about Charon being a super with a power that seemed to cause fear.  Only three had not yet realized and were still frantic, while the rest returned to full awareness and continued their assault.  I guess it's to be expected he would be here.  All the better then.  Absolute seriousness returned to his face.  "Guess it's my turn then."

Corry lifted his hand, palm facing upwards.  A slick green liquid began oozing up from his hand, beginning to rapidly spin into the form of a sphere.  Corry stepped through the door archway, finally making an appearance in the room.  He initially spotted Sam, recognizing him as the Crimson Scar, a prime target.  He pitched the softball sized sphere of highly corrosive acid at Sam, speeding near 80 miles per hour.  When Corry's men turned their weapons to focus Sam and Charon, Corry shouted.  "Focus on thinning out the peons!"  Another sphere of acid formed in each of his hands.  "I'll deal with the supers here."  The men complied immediately and began focus firing on the fleeing patrons and other foolish gangers that decided to stay and fight.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Sam took full advantage of the paranoid state of his enemies; two of them seemed to stop firing entirely, stunned and dazed by Charon's powers. Unable to fight back, Sam was easily able to snap their necks. After a moment, though, they started to regain their focus and continued firing normally. Not good. Sam thought. Next came the shout of the leader, commanding his troops to focus on the men in the bar while he dealt with the supers. This man was either a moron or a titan. Sam turned to face this opponent, and saw the projectile hurdling towards him just in time to raise his arm to defend himself. The skin on his arm burned and sizzled, causing him to cry out in pain; the flesh on his arm started to peel away before Sam's eyes; his left arm was in a much worse state than before now, but the amount of exposed blood meant Sam could do a bit of testing with his powers. Gritting through the pain, he lashed his arm in the direction of his opponent, sending several dozen needles of razor sharp blood hurdling towards him. With a bit of luck, it would slash up some of the skin on his face, maybe even bury a few needles in his eyes. Either way, it would force the man to reposition himself to dodge, which would allow Sam to close the gap. If I can get a hold of this guy, I can end him. He's got acid, not super strength. If I grab him, I break him. Immediately after sending the hail of needles at his opponent, Sam rushed Corry, hell bent on not giving him a moment to try anything else; this man wanted to fight the supers? Fine by him; he had faith in the strength of his men.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by Charon Thu Sep 01, 2016 1:58 pm

This attack was devastating. Had Charon known this was coming and was able to prepare his men, he might have been able to get a strategy set up. As it was though, a lot of his men were lying on the ground in what should have been a night of celebration. Someone was going to pay for this, and that was when Charon saw some markings on the men's arms. They were tattoos...Mammon was responsible for this. Charon's lone eye narrowed as he knew that he was going to have to rain down hell on Simon for this act. The war was escalating for both sides, Charon knew that if he survived this he was going to have to end this before their whole districts were in ruins.

Charon turned as a new man entered the fray, immediately announcing that he would be fighting the supers. Charon saw that he was holding something green in his hand. He had no idea what it was, but if he was saying he'd take on the supers it could only mean one thing. Guy's a super, and thinks he's a strong one at that. That guy Kevin did say that Simon hired a bunch more to take us out. Great, this was just one more I have to deal with. Sam seems to have it though, I need to help save my boys in what way I can while Sam holds him off though. I just hope I can be fast enough, there's no telling how strong this guy is.

Charon turned back to the remaining of Mammon's forces as he tried to come up with a way to take them out or distract them. They had automatic weapons, so any sort of a straight charge was going to end up as suicide. Charon's jacket wasn't going to protect him from a hail of bullets that strong. His eye started scanning the men, trying to sense their fear. Finally, Charon found one that he could do some work with his illusions.

Charon created an illusion, making it look like one of his men pulled the pin of a grenade and threw it straight at the concentrated group of men. Charon hoped that the the threat of a grenade would cause them to scatter or panic at least a little bit. As this went on, Charon made sure his intentions were clear. "Everyone fire now!" he shouted as he reloaded his pistol and started firing off his own attacks once again. In truth Charon wanted to get close to use his knife, but there were still far too many people for him to risk that move.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by V.Carnage Thu Sep 01, 2016 5:27 pm

Corry scanned his surrounding, noticing six of his men already dead.  He noticed the tattoos on all six of them.  Figures.  The unprepared will die first.  Of the men under his command, only four worked directly for him as a fellow mercs.  The rest were supplied by Mammon.  These Mammon grunts may have been good, but it didn't seem like they've handled many supers before.  His partners were different.  They were smart, and knew to handle a super with care.  Corry's four personal men lead the charge as if military trained soldiers and expertly out-gunned their opponents.

The acid made contact with Sam's arm, opening up his veins and letting blood trickle out.  As he swung his arm, many blood needles rocketed at Corry.  Reacting immediately, Corry took up a more defensive and sturdy position, and waved his hands, spreading his acid spheres thinner but covering more area in front of him.  Most of the needles were stopped, the cells immediately broken down by the wall of acid.  A few got threw, one cutting his cheek and another skinning his arm, but no major damage.  As soon as the barrage was done he dropped his shield, ready for Sams rush.  He nimbly side-stepped to his right at the last second and gave a swift elbow to the back of Sam's neck.  "You may have all that brute strength Crimson Scar, but you're predictable."  He said this while in motion.  A corrosive disk paralleling his hand began to swirl and he moved to palm strike Sam from the back.

Charon's attempt to trick one of Mammon's men worked.  In his eyes, he saw the grenade chucked into the heart of the group of invading forces and quickly yelled, "Grenade! Scatter!"  The men complied, spreading out to avoid the incoming explosion.  However, there was no explosion.  The men remained frantic, trying to avoid an explosion that wasn't coming.  The four of Corry's underlings finally figured it out.  They regained their focus and noticed Charon had separated from Sam, while Corry was busy dealing with him.  Two of them began suppression fire on Charon, hoping to break his concentration while the other two took command and ordered the remaining troops to continue attacking.  Two more of the invaders had died, but many more of the new Red Diamonds had fallen by this time.

The man was surprisingly fast, and Sam wasn't prepared for him to move out of the way so easily, so he stumbled past as Corry's palm strike landed firmly on his dislocated shoulder, sending him to the ground in pain. He propped himself up, his shirt disintigrating at the left shoulder, along with a thin layer of skin. He looked up and saw Corry shouting orders to his men to dodge one of Charon's illusions and took the chance while he had it; he drove his elbow into the side of Corry's kneecap. Normally, this move combined with his strength would dislocate the kneecap and cause immense pain, but given his injuries and awkward positioning on the floor, the best he'd be able to do would be bring Corry down to one knee. Either way, immediately after executing this move, Sam used all the strength he could in his right arm to push himself back to his feet.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by Charon Fri Sep 02, 2016 2:01 am

Charon quickly ducked low as the mercenaries started launching suppressing fire down at him. He moved down and thought his situation over. Sam was dealing with the super, but Charon needed to buy his men some time to properly retaliate and take the advantage back for this fight. Charon stayed calm as he created an idea. A wicked smile formed as he moved to the side of the bar, only barely peaking out to see where the men were. Charon focused on his power and created an illusion of himself running down the other side of the bar, firing random shots that would miss. The enemies took the bait though, and Charon pounced.

He sprinted forward as soon as Mammon's men turned and started firing at the illusion of Charon. The man quickly moved in and saw one of Mammon's men reloading his automatic weapon. Just as he loaded the clip he heard the running, but it was too late. Charon withdrew his knife from his left hand and reached around before stabbing the man in the shoulder. As the man screamed in pain Charon reached around with his right hand and gripped teh man's gun, held firmly to the weapon. Using the Mammon grunt as a human shield, Charon started firing off as many bullets as he could at the men around him. He wasn't going for accuracy, as the amount of bullets would likely harm if not kill several of the Mammon drones that were close by. Charon just hoped this little stunt was enough for his men to launch a good counter attack.

As Charon fired his bullets he began walking backwards, pulling on his knife to make sure the Mammon grunt followed him out of sheer fear and pain.

After his palm strike successfully landed, Corry heard one of the Mammon grunts shout about an incoming grenade.  He looked away to see his men scatter from an incoming explosive.  While he was distracted, Sam managed to make a small recovery and attack Corry.  Sams elbow was driven right into Corry's kneecap, causing him to grunt in pain and fall to one knee.  Dammit.  If he was at full strength, that could have been bad.  His joint was a little sore now, but he quickly righted himself and jumped back, knowing Sam would soon be on his feet.  He did not want to be right next to a super like that when he recovered.  He had to play this smart. He noticed Sam's left arm had taken significant damage, not all of which was caused by Corry.  When he had the chance, he would target that.  First, he needed to send in some artillery.  Corry extended his left hand and fired an acid sphere towards Sam's right side.  It was off mark by a margin and wouldn't have hit, but Corry curved it so that it would come at Sam from the side.  While Sam was distracted with that attack, Corry rushed Sam, aiming a solid punch right at his left shoulder.

As soon as Charon ducked behind cover, the two mercs stopped firing and continued their campaign of slaughter elsewhere.  A splinter of Mammon grunts continued with Charon though, laying fire down when they saw his running down one side of the bar.  None of the bullets seemed to hit, when out of no where, one of the grunts was stabbed and used as a human shield.  With his gun stolen and a knife in his shoulder, he tried to struggle at first, but realized the futility and complied for fear of his life.  The Mammon grunts aimed for Charon, but hesitated with their comrade being used to block the bullet path.  Charon's fire into the group managed to take out two grunts and injure another as they scattered.  Charon distracting the small splinter managed to distract them long enough for Typhon grunts to come up behind them and lay down more fire, gunning down two more before the fire fight resumed.  As Charon backed away, the gun fight continued to escalate.  Their were corpses and blood splatters everywhere, and some injured, barely hanging to life.  The Typhon casualties far outnumbered those of the invaders at this point.  There were twelve able invaders left and one heavily injured.  Their forces were almost halved by this point, but only the best of the bunch were left now.  Things weren't over yet.

Back on his feet, Sam was well prepared for a counter attack from Corry. He easily sidestepped the attack, noticing it was aimed at his side, not even his middle, meaning he hardly had to take his eyes off of Corry, who immediately followed up by rushing Sam. Well, that makes my job easier. He threw up his left arm, blocking and diverting the punch with his forearm; the force of it agitated his shoulder significantly, and he had to bite down on his tongue to keep from falling over from the pain; he tasted blood as he did. In a single swift motion, he shifted his arm from the block to forcefully grabbing Corry's wrist. "Last mistake." He hissed, his trademark wolfgrin appearing on his face. He hit Corry right in the nose with his right hand, which he then used to grab Corry's other hand; he didn't want to deal with anymore of his acid, so he had to keep those away from him. "You're really gonna go fisticuffs with the reigning champion right next to the ring? Not the brightest, are you?" He laughed, and spat straight in Corry's face, sending needles of hardened blood right into his face. It wasn't going to do any damage, but it would still hurt. He twisted Corry's arms as he did, hoping to do some muscle damage; he wasn't at his full strength, so he wasn't able to exert much more force than a man about Corry's own strength.

Retaliation Empty Re: Retaliation

Post by Charon Sat Sep 03, 2016 1:53 am

This wasn't working! Charon was starting to panic that these men were going to just keep killing until the room was filled with blood. This room didn't hold anywhere near all of Typhon's men, but it was a significant loss as it was. Charon had to admit that for now he was bested by Mammon. He had to change it up, and there was only one person that could deal with the 12 invaders and give the boys some time to counter attack.

"Sam! I need you to take care of these guys, we're getting slaughtered over here!" Charon shouted. He yanked the knife out of the man in a jagged manner, likely forcing him to bleed out within the minute. Charon fired what bullets were left in the gun until it was empty. Knowing that he wasn't physically strong enough to fight the twelve men, he had to get Sam to do it for him. Charon threw the gun down before turning and running towards where Sam fought the super. "Sam! We're trading now! I need you to save the men that are left, or else everyone's dead. I'll take this guy" Charon said before jumping forward and sending a knee at Corry, hoping to seperate him from Sam so that The Crimson Scar could take down the twelve remaining invaders. "Go now this is the only way we get out of here alive!" Charon commanded as his eye rested on Corry, his knife still drawn in preparation to fight Corry.

Sam had managed to move out of the way on the acid sphere, as expected.  What was not expected was that Sam was prepared for Corry's charge.  Sam brought up his arm and blocked the punch, though Corry could see it caused him much pain to do so, and quickly transitioned to grab Corry's arm.  His eyes went wide for a moment in surprise and knowing what was coming next as he braced himself.  Sam's fist collided with Corry's nose.  It had no doubt been broken, but Corry had been expecting much worse.  Crimson Scar is severely weakened.  Now's the time.  Corry went to move his left arm to shoot another bolt of acid, but his arm was stopped and seized by Sam.  His eyes widened slightly, more in understanding than surprise.  He looked at Sam and narrowed his eyes as Sam said his little spiel.  Sam spat blood needles at Corry, one sticking in his cheek and another below his lip.  Corry's right eye flinched when Sam spat initially, but made no acknowledgment of any pain.  Sam began twisting Corry's arms, but his strength was wearing thin.  He had Corry's arms moved out of position, but Corry was able to fight back against Sam, and prevented any overextending of his muscles.

Spitting on the enemy, huh?  Good idea.  Corry continued fighting back, even stepping forward to push back against Sam.  His lips pulled back, revealing his teeth.  From behind his teeth, a green liquid began to seep through the cracks.  He opened his mouth and out came a stream of acid right at Sam.  The spit acid didn't hit any direct skin, at least not yet.  It covered much of Sam's shirt, so if he didn't take it off quickly, it would eat through and severely damage him.  However, if he did so, he would also have to let Corry go.  If Sam would ultimately decide to let Corry go, however reluctantly, as he was removing his corroding shirt, Corry would take the opportunity to bring a full force punch right to Sam's face as he wasn't looking.  "I was under the impression that the champion would talk less during a fight."

Charon's shouting made it obvious to know he was coming, but he would ultimately succeed in his goal of separating Corry and Sam.  As Charon came flying in, Corry stepped backwards, easily dodging the attack.  As Charon landed, he pulled out his knife and faced Corry defiantly, standing almost between Corry and Sam.  So the big Boss is ready to fight now, is he?  Corry took quick glances of the room, reading the situation instantly.  He had lost half of his men, but the slaughter still continued as Typhon was slowly getting picked off.  If Sam was going to go off to help fight the invaders, Corry felt that at least in his current state, that his mercs could handle finishing him off.  He returned his attention to Charon, yet still minding what action Sam would take.  A knife fight then?  I didn't expect to use my knife, but I wonder what he is capable of.  Corry drew his own military grade knife in his right hand and took a stance facing Charon.  I just wonder if he really expects me to only use my knife in this life or death battle.

Sam's eyes flared with surprise as the acid started eating through his shirt. He let go of Corry's right arm to quickly rip it off, which wasn't hard since the back was already torn from the previous acid attack, but Corry's punch forced him off of the invader entirely. Sam finished tearing his shirt off, revealing his heavily scarred torso. When Charon intervened, he looked back and forth from Corry and the twelve invaders. This is stupid. We need to double team this bastard. Sam thought, and was about to disregard Charon's orders and rush Corry again anyways, but then he saw lights through the front window; reinforcements were arriving. All Sam had to do was keep the rest of these people alive for long enough for them to start coming in, and the fight would turn. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the hulking figure of the Janitor with his riot shield already making his way to the front door, and several other members of Typhon behind him. Sam smirked, and turned to engage the invaders, but not before hurling his shirt at Corry's face. It wouldn't do any damage or anything, but it would distract him and restrict his vision of Charon long enough for him to get a cheap shot in. Sam pounced and in a single bound rammed into on of the invaders, grabbing him with his right arm and hurling him into the pack. Several of them fell over from the force, but five of them got out of the way and turned their weapons to Sam, giving the remaining survivors inside a moment to breath. Sam hardened his blood, readying for their attack, and began making his way towards them, reaching out to grab what appeared to be one of the better-trained lieutenants.

Charon paced slowly, making sure that his footing was always as ready as it could be. Charon wasn't certain what kind of a fighter Corry was, but Charon was rather limited in physical fights. Still, when it came to a knife fight he was fairly damn talented. It made him smile as Corry pulled out his own. Course, this wasn't just a knife fight now. Corry could still use that acid power while Charon only had his knife to work on. He was going to have to play this fight smart if he was going to take Corry down. The faster Corry was killed, the sooner Charon could go back and help save the rest of the men that were here.

Charon moved forward, moving his arm out to lash his claw-like blade right at Corry's chest, quickly bringing the blade backwards should Corry avoid it. Charon kept moving the blade back and forth as he pressed forward, trying to force Corry to fight defensively.

Sam flung his corroded shirt towards Corry in an attempt to block his vision of Charon.  Idiot.  It may block my vision of him, but it also blocks his vision of me.  Corry took a step so that his left arm would be momentarily blocked from Charons view, raised it and lined it up with the shirt and Charon, and fired an acid sphere.  The sphere collided with the shirt anc continued flying at Charon.  Charon either noticed it coming or was just lucky as he dodged out of the way at the last second when he went to dash at Corry.  As Charon charged he took a swing at Corry's chest which he managed to avoid by stepping back.  Immediately after missing Charon continued his assault and swing back.  Corry quickly brought up his own knife, just barely stopping it in time before it would have ripped through him.  The ting of metal against metal reverberated.  Charon was moving wildly but precisely.  It was taking all that Corry had to block the incoming strikes.  There isn't a lot of force behind his strikes, but he is fast.  And he certainly knows how to knife fight.  Corry mostly had to play defensively from Charons relentless attacks, but this style Charon chose had a weakness of it own.  If he was putting all his focus on pushing Corry, little to no focus was put on defense.  Corry watched carefully for a moment to counter.  A moment finally arose when Charon went in with full force.  Corry side stepped, Charon's blade just catching him in the side, cutting his clots and leaving a shallow cut across his side.  Corry's knife drove forward, taking advantage of the opening in Charon's defenses.

As the four mercs were focusing on firing on the Typhon members, one of the Mammon grunts was sent flying at the group behind one of them.  He turned to see Sam hurdling at him.  The merc laid down some fire at Sam as he charged, but that did not stop him as Sam reached for him.  The merc switched tactics and responded by batting away Sams hand with the butt end of the gun then going to kick him in the side.  A second merc was also nearby and went to help his comrade against Sam.  He made it to them just after Merc One's kick.  He came up behind Sam and went to stab Sam with the bayonet on his gun.

Sam was surprised at this man's reflexes; he managed to bat Sam's hand out of the way easily, but the kick more knocked him off balance than it did to Sam due to his stopping power; it was like kicking a solid wall. Sam reached out to grab the man while he was off guard, but let out a cry of pain as he felt a sharp pain in his back; without turning around, he reached his arm back and grabbed what was stabbing him, hoping for an arm to break. It was instead simply the muzzle of one of the rifles, but he still squeezed it, not fully breaking the barrel, but twisting it enough that it would only be able to misfire now. He stepped forward, pushing back the man in front of him, and turned around, wrenching the bayonet out of his back. He grabbed the barrel of the gun again and forced it out of the man's hands with his raw superior strength; the merc was smart enough to let go of the gun, though, so he didn't get pulled off balance, which was bad news for Sam. But now he had a weapon. A damaged one, sure, but not being able to fire the gun didn't mean it would hurt any less when he swung it into someone's face. To test this theory, Sam turned back around to the first man he had been pursuing and swung the gun at his face like a baseball bat; it wasn't his fastest swing due to the pain in his shoulder, but if it hit, it would certainly knock the man off of his feet and into the crowd of recovering grunts again.
The door swung open and a loud shotgun blast filled the air as the Janitor fired in the air, not aiming at anyone, but demanding everyone's attention. The chaos hardly slowed down, but his presence was now known to all. "TYPHON!" He yelled, his voice reverberating over the gunshots. "MOVE YOUR ASSES! PULL OUT!" He raised his riot shield and aimed the shotgun at the grunts and began advancing; behind him was Orlando, along with several other of Typhon's best, all wearing bullet-proof armor of their own. As they advanced behind the safety of Janitor's shield, Orlando began laying down some suppressing fire with his assault rifle. Mammon had sent their best, and now Typhon's were in play. The playing field had just evened up significantly.

Corry moved with precision and didn't seem to flinch at Charon's assault. The guy has training, he's good whoever he is. Still, I need to make sure that I win this. If I die here, Typhon and everything we've survived through will be for nothing. We've lost a lot, but Mammon still needs to die! Charon continued his assault, but his eye caught sight of Corry moving in to strike at Charon's exposed stomach. Charon lashed his free hand forward, hitting the palm of Corry's hand and forcing the knife to aim elsewhere. It skimmed and cut in to Charon's side, forcing a cry of pain from the man. Charon tried to use this to his advantage though.

After mostly blocking Corry's attack, Charon was hoping that Corry would be slightly off balance from having his hand forced away from Charon's center. Charon pushed Corry's hand to the side before dropping to one knee, aiming to stab his knife right in to Corry's ribs from the side and yank back. With a karambit, Charon only needed to land one good blow to gain the favor in this fight.

Merc One had successfully knocked away Sams hand, but his kick was not so successful.  His kick made contact, but had no visible effect.  As Sam made a grab for his leg, he knew he was in a bad position.  Luckily, Merc Two took Sam by surprise with his bayoneted weapon, stopping Sam from grabbing his leg.  Sam quickly grabbed for the gun, distorting the barrel.  Sam pushed back against Merc One's leg, causing him to stumble backwards.  Merc Two tried to pull his damaged gun away, but Sam managed to wrench it from his hands.  Knowing he was outmatched in strength, he didn't put up too much of a fight.  Sam wound up to swing the gun at the stumbling Merc One.  Instead of falling, however, he let himself do a backwards somersault and ended up crouched on his feet with some distance between him and Sam.  Sam's swing was slow enough that this managed to let him dodge the attack in this way.  As Sam focused on Merc One, Merc Two took the chance to reposition himself, and sent an elbow straight into Sam's bad arm.  As soon as he made this attempt, he ducked away to avoid a counter attack.  If Sam turned to attack or find Merc Two, Merc One would rush Sam again, aiming to attack where Corry had damaged Sams arm with a punch.  The two heard the commotion and were able to figure out reinforcements had arrived.  They needed to do as much damage as they could as quickly as they could and get out.

Charon managed to counter Corry's attack with his free hand, sending it off target but still managing to slice at Charon's side.  Having invested a lot in his counter, his momentum carried him forward, forcing himself to stop abruptly.  The stop slowed his reaction time slightly.  Charon continued pushing Corry's knife hand off center and away from his own body leaving him exposed.  Luckily for him, he still had a free hand.  He made a quick grab at the incoming hand.  He ultimately stopped the blade just short of piercing his chest, but his grip was around the top of Charons hand, and a bit on the knife, causing blood to begin flowing from Corry's hand.  He didn't let go, however, and tried to use the opportunity to hold Charon in place and push kick him straight in his chest, Charon being so low to the ground.  Corry noticed the new enemy forces and made sure to keep a watch on them so they didn't get the drop on him.  At this point, he was more concerned with killing Charon than in the reinforcements.

Sam let out a yelp of pain as the elbow collided with his bad arm, and he reflexively whirled around, swinging the gun with his momentum. He caught nothing but air as the merc ducked from his attack. He was about to kick the ducking man, but heard the first rushing him from behind. Deciding to avoid taking another hit, Sam whirled around once again, swinging with the gun at the man's head level. Since the rotation was more in his waist and hips which weren't injured, he was able to put a significant amount of power and speed behind it. However, he failed to take into account the weight of the weapon, and so instead of colliding with his head, it slammed into his shoulder. The effect was still relatively the same, knocking the charging man clean off of his feet. Sam continued moving forward and away from the other merc, stepping on the fallen man to gain some momentum, and putting distance between him and the still active merc.
By now, the Janitor and his phalanx had reached the bulk of the invaders, who had now all but fully recovered from having one of their own thrown into their ranks. The Janitor fired into the crowd twice with his shotgun; due to their kevlar, it wasn't going to deal any significant damage, but the force of a shotgun at such close range is still more than enough to stagger those hit with the blast. Orlando also joined in, firing wildly at the group, attempting to push them back to the back entrance with their advance, or at least keep them from firing on the rest of the club while several of the other members of Typhon's reinforcements started evacuating the injured.

Charon was pushed back, but he made sure hat he didn't let go of his own knife for even a moment. Corry's hand was likely further damaged as Charon was kicked back and landed on his back. Charon felt a further sting of pain from his side wound due to landing, but it wasn't enough to stop him just yet. He just laid there panting for a moment, making it seem like he was too tired to keep up the fight. When Corry moved in for his next attack, Charon shot his foot up to kick at Corry's lower leg, aiming to knock him off balance. Char would once again use his free hand to try and move Corry's knife away from him, while at the same time moving his knife forward in the hopes that if Corry did stumble, it'd be straight in to the blade.

Merc Two had successfully landed his hit and dodged the swing, but he thought there would be some more followup.  He was surprised when there wasn't as he saw Sam turn and slam the weapon into his ally's shoulder, knocking him off his feet and onto his back.  Merc One felt the full brunt of Sams remaining strength, and felt the pain shoot through him.  He could tell at the very least, his shoulder was dislocated.  He cried out in pain, but the air was knocked out of him as Sam slammed his foot straight onto his rib cage as he ran over him in an attempt to escape Merc Two.  Merc One did not cry out this time, but coughed heavily as the pressure on his chest was released.   Merc Two pulled out his knife in preparation to defend himself as he moved to help his friend up, while not taking his eyes off of Sam.  Merc One managed to stand using his good arm to help him up.  He coughed again and spat some blood on the floor.  Chances were he had multiple broken ribs.  He just hoped nothing was punctured.  He pulled out his pistol with his good hand, aiming right at sames chest and shot off two rounds.  Merc Two stood ready behind and to the right of Merc One.

The rest of Mammon's forces were getting pushed back by the reinforcements, and a couple were getting picked off.  The other two mercs, on the other hand, started to flank the incoming force, trying to disrupt their line, while moving erratically to avoid being hit.  Corry's kick landed square in Charons chest, causing him to fly back.  Corry managed to let go of the knife early enough so his hand wasn't cut too bad, but the tip of the blade still nicked him as he flew backwards.  Corry watched carefully as Charon was panting on the ground.  It seemed he had run out of steam.  Well, I guess that's that.  Corry exhaled as he extended his bleeding hand as an acid sphere swirled in his hand.  His face did not change from the bland and serious expression as he did so.  Once it reached the size of a basketball, he fired it off directly at Charon.  If the hit would land, it would quickly melt through all protective clothing Charon was wearing and eat through his skin in moments.

Sam whirled around, prepared to fight the two mercs. The one on the ground was certainly worse for the wear, blood dripping out of his lips, but he still had enough steam to whip out a pistol and start shooting at Sam. Thankfully, Sam's hardened blood stopped them from getting through his ribcage, but the force of them still staggered him backwards, the bullets simply embedded in his skin. Sam ran forward, not giving the man time to fully steady himself on his feet as he fired, his leg strength pumping him forward at inhuman speed. As he ran, he let loose with a wide strike from left to right with the gun, aiming at head level. Ideally, the strength behind the blow would be able to hit both of the men, but even with his speed, it was a long shot. Odds are the first man would take the hit, and the strike would slow down considerably from the collision, allowing the second merc to get out of the way. Either way, Sam was getting the knife a few feet away from him, and most likely the gun out of play.
Typhon's reinforcements were struggling to evacuate men with the two invaders laying down so much fire on them. The Janitor finally had enough of them, aimed his shotgun at one of them while he was focused on shooting one of the others, and pulled the trigger. Click. He let out a grunt of rage and threw the empty gun to the ground, pulled out his baton, and charged towards them, letting loose a battle cry. His shield in front of him for protection, nothing short of armor piercing rounds would slow him down. He had to draw fire off of his allies, and the larger group was more or less suppressed with Orlando and his men. Once he reached one of the mercs, he would attempt to use the riot shield to knock him to the ground.
