Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Megalodon Thu Aug 04, 2016 12:55 am

Today was another busy day for the restaurant on the outskirts of the shopping district.  The place was small and looked like it had a lot or recent renovations and new parts installed, showing the restaurant had not just aged well, but thrived in it.  There was a sidewalk separating the road and a small parking lot out front of the restaurant with a few cars already parked and two words in bolded letters were branded above the entrance: Eddy's Eats.  The inside was filled with round tables and booths, as well as a front desk to order from.  At the register stood a man who had not quite aged as well as his restaurant, but maintained a youthful vigor, greeting long time and new customers alike with a shining smile.  It may not have been in a prime location such as right in the middle of the shopping district, but it still maintained a loyal clientele.  Luckily for the owners, they had an ace up their sleeve; their loyal worker and mascot who had been working there for fourteen years now, Wendi.

Wendi Gore: a beautiful young woman who, based on the people she attracted, was well into her prime.  She wore a purple skirt and a tight fitting white shirt under her blue work vest; "Wendi" sewed into the vest just to the left of the buttons.  She moved around the restaurant briskly and professionally.  She brandished a toothy smile, emphasizing her shark-like teeth, yet none of the customers seemed off put or bothered at all.  With practiced steps she moved from behind the register to the tables of waiting customers, delivering their orders.  There were always many eyes on Wendi at all times, including some newcomers who would get stern looks from the regulars to not try anything.  Wendi barely noticed or cared.  She just enjoyed her day as usual.

When the rush ended, yet most of the customers stayed, one of the regulars, a middle aged man named Bill waved her over to sit with him and his friends.  "Hey Sweet Tooth," a genuine smile graced his face, "We've got some more treats for ya today."  While the rush had ended, most of the customers had opted to stay.  Bill pulled out a plastic grocery bag and withdrew a large rainbow lollipop.   Wendi's eyes glittered, Really? Thanks Bill!  You're always so nice to me!  She skipped over and gave him a quick hug before sitting down next to Bill and starting on her sugary treat.  Bill and the others watched as she ate the lollipop as is she was a little girl who gets giddy over simple things, amused simply by her happiness. There were even a few onlookers, and some new customers looked with confusion.  "There is more where that came from so don't hold back," Bill replied.  Wendi continued licking the lollipop, humming happily to herself, and then took a huge bite out of the edge, leaving teeth marks in the once perfect circle.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Phalanx Thu Aug 04, 2016 1:40 am

Dia had heard good things about this place and decided that it was probably about time for her to give it a try. It seemed to be one of the must stop fast food shops of the city, slowly building a name for itself both for the good food as well as the friendly employees. It's lasting power spoke leagues of the food and service as well and so today, Dia had decided to leave her home and give it a quick try. She'd be dining alone, as per usual.

Her custom-built Maserati pulled straight up to the sidewalk to let her off, the rear door opening slowly before all seven feet of Diamante Spada emerged from the vehicle's back seat with a hefty creak from the suspension rebounding back into place before she turned and closed the door with a quick wave to her driver that all was well and he could depart. Normally he would've been opening the door for her, but she couldn't very well force him to drop her off at the front, get out to assist her exit and then get back into the car to drive away and find a spot! That would just be cruel and unnecessary work!

With a quick glance around the area, Diamante straightened her white sweater dress, the neck reaching nearly up to her bottom lip, and slowly lumbered her way toward the front doors of the establishment amongst some rather awkward stares from those around. The young woman was fairly accustomed to it and was generally capable of ignoring the eyes upon her conclusively abnormal figure.

She nodded her appreciation with a quiet thanks to the couple exiting the building as they held the door for her slowly shuffling form, gently holding the door herself once she was most of the way inside so that they wouldn't need to wait any longer for her. She wasn't exactly the speediest human being in the world, moving more at a super old grandma pace than anything that would be considered standard for someone her age.

She didn't take much notice of the patrons around the area and, by extension, Wendi who was currently seated as though she were also a customer, instead moving her way up to the register to place her order. Well aware of her top speed, Dia had taken the time required to get her toes flush to the counter to take a look up at the menu board and decide just what she was going to order for her meal. Once actually up to the counter, however, Dia's lightly glowing eyes came back down to meet whoever was taking orders, likely the man she'd seen upon entering unless he'd gotten bored and switched off for someone else in the time it'd taken from entering the store to reaching the place where she could order. Perhaps this was Eddy? She'd have to check his name tag once she finished her order.

"H-hello..." Dia stuttered out in a mouse-ish voice that didn't much match her enormous stature. It felt rude to begin ordering without a proper greeting.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Megalodon Thu Aug 04, 2016 2:53 am

The old man watched as Diamante entered the restaurant and lumbered her way over to his register.  "Why hello there, young lady.  May I take your order?"  The man maintained his friendly grin, not batting an eye to Diamante's odd appearance, as if he was used to such strange sights.  Further inspection of his name tag would reveal that this was indeed Eddy, the owner of the restaurant.  He had a no facial hair and what was left on his head was graying.  Eddy was also a bit chubby and smelled of the fast food he served.  Some of the stares that were formerly directed at Wendi now shifted to Dia, a bit bewildered by their new peer.

Wendi was too distracted initially with her candy to notice Dia enter the establishment.  It wasn't until she heard Eddy speak up that she looked over and noticed the rather tall and strangely proportioned guest giving her order.  Wendi stared for a moment, with interest, directly at Dia.  A grin spread across her face and she stood from her seat.  She bit the last bit of candy off the paper stick and threw it in the trash can, grabbing the three more lollipops she had received in her left hand.   "Thanks for the snack guys, but I have work to do!" She gave an eager salute and bounded over to the front counter.  The group of men waved her off as they watched her move to the front counter, suddenly noticing the strange girl Wendi was running up to.

Wendi arrived immediately as Diamante finished placing her order, not missing a single beat.  She stepped right next to Diamante, possibly making her feel uncomfortable from the closeness. "Hi there!" Wendi smiled and looked Diamante up and down as if looking to find all her peculiarities, leaving a couple seconds of almost awkward silence.  "Wow," Wendi spoke up, possibly interrupting Dia, "You sure are tall.  And pretty too."  Wendi looked up at Dia who was a good foot taller than her.  Wendi spoke in a boisterous tone, "So, what's your name?  I'm Wendi, but some people just call me Sweet Tooth!"  Wendi showed off an innocent toothy shark's grin, which inadvertently appeared predatory by virtue of their shape.  Her matured body and appearance made it obvious she was older that Dia by about ten years, but her aura gave off a slightly different, much younger feel.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

"Yes. Please..." Dia followed up to the man's request. She was rather hungry and required a lot of protein to continue building muscle, so she ordered two bacon cheeseburger meals and produced a charge card from her purse to serve as payment. She never carried cash.

Suddenly and without any warning, Dia felt her personal bubble burst as if merely instinct even before the girl beside her announced her presence with a greeting. She'd been just about to step aside and make room for any more customers too... She glanced behind her quickly to ensure that she wasn't keeping up any sort of line by remaining in front of the register before turning her gaze down toward the girl who had greeted her with so much spunk.

Her lips were just parting to return the greeting when she found that the other woman apparently had more to say, eventually discovering that her name was Wendi.

"Uh... th-thank you..." Dia responded awkwardly to the compliment concerning her appearance with a shy smile and a light blush. "You look very nice as well... A-anyway... My name is Diamante, but you can just call me Dia if you like... It's very good to make your acquaintance, Ms. Wendi." She blinked in surprise as the otherwise perfectly normal girl flashed a row of teeth more appropriate for a nightmare monster than a human, but was quick to recompose herself. She knew well enough what it was like to be constantly called out for your differences and gawked at.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Eddy acknowledged Dia's order, reading it back to her before placing the order in the register.  He brought up the total and accepted the card handed to him, and handed it back just as Wendi showed up.  Eddy moved from the register and into the kitchen, where his wife was stationed, with Diamante's order.  The restaurant was filled mostly with chitchat and small talk, with the occasionally glance over at the odd pair standing in front of the register.  No new customers came through the doors and everyone who was there had already been helped.

Wendi continued, completely oblivious to any discomfort Dia may be feeling.  She did notice the red tint dawn Dia's cheeks, however, and gave a little giggle.  Wendi listened to Dia's return compliment and learned her name as well.  "Why, thank you!  You're so nice.  It's nice to meet you Dia!" Wendi rested her hands on her hips and cocked her head, "I don't think I've seen you around here before,"  Wendi put a finger to her lip in thought, "could you happen to be a new customer?"

A few seconds passed as Wendi listened for Dia's response until something clicked in her head.  "Ah, right, customer!  I'm still working! Ummm, uhhh," Wendi attempted to recover, almost frantic to look professional.  "Right!"  Wendi stood, spine straight in a comically forced seriousness and put up a salute, "I am your server! So just let me know if you need anything!"  The hand she saluted with was actually the one with the three giant lollipops in them, so they ended up being pressed to her forehead.  Regardless, she maintained her attempt at seriousness with a completely straight face.  "Would you like me to find you a table?"

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

"Yes, I've never been here before, but reviews on Yelp were so favorable that I finally broke down and decided to give it a try despite not often eating in public establishments," Dia responded to Wendi's question with a nervous little smile.

She couldn't help but release a breathy chuckle at the sight of the previously relaxed woman suddenly realizing that she was apparently slacking on the job and her quick reaction to rectify the issue.

"Thank you... I will..." Dia answered back to the request to let Wendi know if she needed anything, casting a reassuring smile back that would hopefully put her server a little more at ease. She didn't fail to take notice of the lollipops now smacked to the girl's forehead, taking note that she obviously had a thing for candy... or at least lollis. "That would be wonderful, thank you..." She nodded, requesting that a seat indeed be found for her. "I'd like a table out of the way that I can stand at without being a bother. I uh... I can't use chairs or booths..." she explained quietly.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Megalodon Thu Aug 04, 2016 11:17 pm

"Alright then!"  All signs of seriousness immediately dropped from Wendi, her toothy smile returning to her face.  "So, a table where Dia can stand.  Let's see, let's see."  Wendi scanned the room with one hand on her hip and the other above her eyes, as if shielding them from the sun.  "Aha! There it is!"  Wendi pointed with her lollipops to a small elevated table at the back of the restaurant with two tall chairs by it.  "Follow me!"  Wendi waved for Dia to follow.

As Wendi walked toward the table she picked up the conversation again.  "So we have some pretty good reviews, huh?  That's awesome!  It's probably because of how nice Eddy is, or how good Shawna can make the food even though it's fast food!"  Wendi giggled, thinking about her many years working there.  "They are really great people, and they really help me out all the time."  Almost to the table now, out of nowhere a loud growl echoed in the room.  Wendi immediately stopped in her tracks, one food levitating off the ground.  All was quiet for a moment, and there were many eyes on Wendi from the restaurant patrons.

Until one, Bill, burst out laughing, followed by all the regulars.  While the newcomers sent confused stares all about.  Wendi turned to Bill's table, clutching her stomach as her face burned red.  "What are you laughing at?"  Bill finally spoke up, "You have to make sure to eat properly there Wendi.  What about those lollipops I gave you?"  Wendi puffed out her cheeks and turned away before starting on one of the three rainbow swirls she had in her hand.  Suddenly remembering what she was doing, she quickly turned back to Dia.  "Ah, sorry about that.  I just, umm, get kinda hungry easy..."  Her face maintained a tint of red as she attempted a laugh and smile.

"So," Wendi took a few steps and recomposed herself, gesturing to the table next to her, "Here it is!"  She moved the two chairs off to the side, allowing Dia room to stand at the table.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

"Right..." Dia calmly agreed to follow the jovial woman, following along at what was, to her, almost a run but was really a little slower than a standard walk. She was only just about to add to Ms. Wendi's statement about the Yelp reviews by informing her that she was mentioned a bit as well with comments of friendly service, but there was no time something that sounded more like an angry bear than a stomach erupted from the girl's midsection.

Dia was one of the ones to be confused, of course, though she'd certainly heard the source. Wendi must be one awfully hungry person for working at a fast food restaurant. She briefly contemplated that it must be something unnatural, like her teeth. Maybe it was some strangely inconvenient sort of power?

"That must be really problematic..." she spoke with a sheepish sort of smile. "...Being hungry like that, I mean... Uh... Th-thank you... by the way..." She couldn't accept the table presented to her without thanks after all. It was only polite and she certainly did appreciate the assistance. She was also thankful to be able to stand still for a time after the rather strenuous workout of walking across the restaurant at a faster pace than normal. She was breathing rather heavily as she attempted to catch her breath. She could certainly feel an improvement thanks to her training, but she was far from fully capable of handling her own immense weight just yet.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Wendi also stood at the table, opposite of Dia.  She gave an awkward laugh, "Yeah, it can be kinda problematic, but it's okay.  Food is delicious, and that just means I get to eat delicious stuff all the time!"  Wendi made a quick glance over at Bill's table before returning her attention to her companion. "But some of the regulars give me treats and snacks too.  They're so nice."  Wendi gave a quick giggle.  "Like this!"  Wendi brandished her rainbow lollipop before returning it to her mouth for a few licks.  By this point her tongue was dyed red and green.

Then, she opened her mouth wide.  Her lips pulled back revealing her gums, and her serrated teeth were emphasized as if about cut through prey until her jaws came together around the lollipop.  She pulled away, a mouth full of candy, and the upper half of the sucker gone.  "Mmmmmmm!  I just love candy!  It's so sweet and tasty!  Do you like candy?"  Wendi was practically sparkling and waited expectantly for a response from Dia.

Once Dia finished responding or failed to do do so, there was a call from the front.  "Wendi!  Order up!"  It was Eddy calling from the cash register.  "Oh!  That must be yours.  I'll be right back!"  Wendi set her two uneaten lollipops on the table and stuck the remainder of her current one in her mouth.  She trotted up to the counter and took a tray from Eddy. She gave a quick thank you that would sound quiet from across the room and over the other patrons talking.  Wendi walked back carefully enough to not drop the tray, but briskly enough to still have a skip in her step.  "Alright!  Here you go!"  She set the tray with two whole meals on the table.  "There are two meals here.  Were you expecting someone?"  Wendi asked innocently, smiling but not her usual toothy grin.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Phalanx Sat Aug 06, 2016 1:22 am

"You're quite the foodie, hm?" Dia inquired with a pleasant smile. She was actually quite enjoying Ms. Wendi's company. She had energy and flare without being overbearing about it. Perhaps her differences from the norm also made her endearing. It was impossible to hide her teeth or ravenous appetite and yet everyone appeared to easily accept her and even befriend her.

She considered for a moment on the question posed to her about candy before answering with a thoughtful nod. "Yes, I suppose I do like the occasional bite of a sweet treat, though I feel like my enthusiasm could never outmatch your own. I could certainly never survive on it as you seem to." She chuckled a bit humorously at that, stopping as the call rang out and Wendi whisked herself away to fetch the tray of food from Dia's order.

"Oh... Well..." That sheepish smile crossed the oddly proportioned young woman's face once again as the faintest of blushes barely tickled across her cheeks. While rather embarrassing in most situations where someone was asking about her appetite, Wendi's own bottomless pit of a stomach made explaining her ordeal a bit easier. "My body is still changing and strengthening rapidly and it requires a lot of fuel to keep everything running efficiently so my metabolism is something near double that of a standard person's. In other words... I have quite the appetite myself. Um... if you'd like some of one of the meals you're welcome to it though..." she offered, unwilling to simply mow down her food without at least offering some to someone who was having a conversation with her at her table even if that someone was an employee of the restaurant.

Once she'd offered, however, whether Wendi accepted or passed on it Dia would begin to carefully unwrap her first burger with the exoskeletal claws she called her fingers. She was pretty famished...

While Dia seemed a bit embarrassed to answer if someone else was going to eat with her, Wendi took little notice and instead just listened with curiosity as Dia gave her answer.  "So both of these are for you?" Wendi questioned.  "Wow!  It's rare for me to meet someone who eats almost as much as I do!"  Wendi giggled, "What a surprise thing to have in common."  Then Dia offered to share some of her food with Wendi.

Wendi immediately straightened up and leaned towards Dia, excited and almost gleaming.  "Really?  You'd really share some of your-!"  Wendi caught herself and pulled back, taking a bit more serious attitude.  "I mean, thank you very much for offering, but I couldn't just take that food that you paid for from you."  Her stomach growled again. She clutched at her stomach, blushing.  It was obvious she wanted some of the food, but was holding back to appear more professional and to act like she really was working.

The shark toothed girl watched almost enviously as Dia unwrapped one of her burgers.  Dia may notice that the lollipop Wendi had was gone, stick and all, at some point since she returned with the tray.  She picked up one of her two remaining lollipops from the table, unwrapped it, and began licking it.  Her lunch break had been nearly an hour ago, so she needed the sugar to stay active and energized.  "So Dia,"  Wendi finally spoke up, attempting to distract herself.  "Where do you work?  What kind of job do you do?"

"Yeah..." Dia answered Ms. Wendi's first few comments awkwardly whilst still holding that awkwardly sheepish smile, trying to concentrate on the delicate task of unwrapping her burger like a blossoming flower without stabbing into it violently by exerting too much force in her hold.

"It's fine if you really want some," Dia had to hold back another chuckle as the other woman nearly began drooling at the prospect of getting to share some of her food. "I can certainly afford it. If I'm still hungry I'll just buy another meal. Have as much as you like." It wasn't really much of a surprise to realize that her impromptu companion had devoured the entire lolli, stick and all, with teeth like that. Given the fact that it was likely a mutative power that had given her those teeth and her appetite, Dia had already surmised that the girl could likely sate herself on just about anything and be perfectly fine.

"Oh..." Dia replied to Ms. Wendi's question, rather surprised at the sudden change in topic. "I don't actually work. My parents give me money to live in the city so I've never really thought about getting a job..." Hopefully answering truthfully wouldn't cause this conversation to go south like it had in the recent past with Mr. Wulf.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Megalodon Mon Aug 08, 2016 2:39 am

What kind of job would Dia have?  Wendi wondered with a mouth full of fries.  After Dia's second offer she could no longer resist.  Almost subconsciously, and quick as lightning, the fries had been removed from their container and relocated into the jaws of the ravenous girl.  Candy may have been Wendi's favorite, well, anything, but she could never resist an actual meal offered to her.  The lollipop she had just been devouring now just sat in her hand, currently unattended as she focused on the free food in front of her.  However, she still listened as Dia talked.

"Parents?"  Wendi seemed visibly fazed for a moment, as an illegible thought attempted to move through her mind.  The moment only lasted as long though; the most noticeable thing being the sudden pause in her speech before picking back up in her joyful tone as if nothing happened.  "Oh wow!  So they give you money, huh.  You must get to eat all kinds of foods!  How nice of them."  The corners of Wendi's mouth rose slightly, revealing her toothy grin.  Another frozen thought covered in fluff.  This one much less noticeable.  Her mind kicked back into gear, moving onto something else.  "Huh? Wait."  Wendi tilted her head, watching Dia.  "If you don't have a job, then what do you do all day?"

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Post by Phalanx Mon Aug 08, 2016 8:12 pm

Dia took a second bite from her burger, not moving nearly as quickly as her latest acquaintance in her meal, but still moving at a fairly good clip. Ms. Wendi's questioning tone on the word parents gave her a moment of pause as well, wondering if perhaps she would need to explain the concept of one's parents to the older woman. It seemed the other woman hadn't grown up with parents to look after her and it made Dia's heart sink a bit at the thought... or perhaps she was just reading into ii too much? It was difficult to tell.

"You could say that, yeah..." Dia responded to Ms. Wendi's comments, cocking her head a bit to the side and offering a friendly smile at the idea that her entire world must revolve around what morsel was next on the menu. It was pretty simplistically amusing in its own way. Dia had the brief thought of how life would be living carefree like that, letting out a wistful sigh before snapping back to the conversation.

"I do whatever I feel like, mostly..." Dia lifted her shoulders quickly in an apathetic shrug. "...except when I'm at school. School is sort of like work, I guess... When I'm not in school I read a lot... If I'm not at school, sleeping or reading I'm probably working on my strength training... My body is really heavy so I have to constantly work on strengthening my muscles so I can move like a normal person someday soon. I'm getting pretty close, I think."

Wendi tilted her head, noticing Dia sigh after she responded to Wendi, but she quickly moved on as Dia did to the rest of the conversation.  Wendi grabbed another handful of fries, interested to see what Dia did with her spare time.  She widened her eyes in amazement at what she heard.  "Really?  You go to school? That's amazing!  You must be so smart."  Wendi practically swallowed the handful of fries whole and leaned forward in excitement.  "What's school like?  Is it fun?  You must meet all sorts of people.  Is the food there good?"  Wendi sent her barrage of questions straight at Dia with quite the passionate curiosity.  Never having gone to any school before other than what the orphanage caretaker and the people at the restaurant taught her, she was extremely curious as to what it was like.

Dia was taken aback by Ms. Wendi's reaction to the fact that she attended school. It took her a moment to collect her thoughts after the barrage of questions, but eventually settled on what she wanted to say in such a situation. Rather than actually answering the questions posed to her, Dia would respond with one of her own, her expression twisting into mild confusion.

"Didn't you attend school as well when you were younger?" she inquired curiously. Didn't everyone go to school when they were younger? Why would this woman be any different? "Were you home schooled or something?"

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Wendi was so excited to hear about school that it surprised her when Dia asked a couple questions of her own.  "Home schooled?  What is home schooled?  Is that like, umm, living at school or something?  What a strange place to live, but I guess some people must do it then."  Wendi nodded to herself as if she understood what it was.  "Does Dia live at the home school?"

She backed off slightly, cocking her head in thought, remembering her younger years.  "Well, I don't think I've ever gone to school before.  The orphanage caretaker never sent us to school.  We had to help out with chores around the house and take care of the younger ones.  And after I ran away and ended up here, I needed food and got a job because I heard that was how people got stuff to eat.  Eddy and Shawna were so nice to me!  And besides," Wendi lightly knocked her knuckles against the side of her head, "I don't think I'm smart enough to go to school."  Wendi gave a lighthearted giggle, as if nothing she was saying were out of the ordinary.  To her, this was simply the norm of the world.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Dia smiled awkwardly while her lunch companion casually insulted herself and misinterpreted the definition of home schooling. It appeared that the woman before her was rather... unique.

"Everyone is smart enough to go to school," Dia attempted to reassure her. Despite the fact that Ms. Wendi obviously didn't seem to much care about her lack of intelligence, the shut-in girl still felt the need to try to pick her spirits up on the matter. "School is where you learn stuff after all. Anything you don't know, they could teach you. And home schooling is when you learn everything that you would learn at school at home from a private tutor or someone close to you. ...I'm pretty sure that an orphanage that doesn't even prepare their children for their future is breaking more than a few laws. We should go give them a piece of our mind and report them." Dia nodded succinctly, her food already half forgotten in her quest for justice. ...But only half as she chomped off a large bite of her burger with a renewed fire in her eyes and vigorous fury in her chewing.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Wendi looked at Dia with bewilderment as she was told that anyone could go to school.  This was completely different than how she thought school was.  Never having even started school in the first place, it always seemed like such a far off and untouchable thing to her.  What little she knew about school came from the bits she heard from restaurant patrons and the owners mixed with her own assumptions and ideas.  The idea that she could have gone to school astonished her.

"They can teach you ANYTHING?"  Wendi's astonishment had shifted its gears back to curiosity, and her toothy smile returned in full force.  "Could they teach me how to cook?  Or how to spell those weird big words like 'su-stence-ance'?"  She visibly struggled with the word 'sustenance'.  "Or maybe even why barbecue sauce goes so well with everything?"  Wendi was practically drooling at this point.  What could she have learned had she gone to school?

Dia took the opportunity to correct Wendi on what homeschooling was.  "Ooooooh, so that is homeschooling.  I guess I messed that one up a bit."  Wendi laughed at herself for how off her idea of home schooling was.  Wendi looked thoughtful for a moment, "Hmm, well, I guess Shawna and some customers like Bill have done a bit of the 'homeschooling' for me.  They all really taught me a lot since I got here!"

When Dia got fired up from hearing about the orphanage, Wendi giggled to herself.  "Dia sure is bold, huh."  Wendi thought back to the orphanage. "It's been so long since I left.  I wonder if it's still there.  Huh?  Where was it again?"  Wendi thought hard for a moment, wracking her brain.  However, she could not remember how to get there.  When she still lived there she never went out much, and when she ran away, she had gotten lost.

"Well... pretty much anything..." Dia responded after swallowing down her fairly large bite of burger. That had almost been too much for her... "There's a cooking class, yeah... and English... but I think that last one is more opinion than fact so that wouldn't really apply to your school studies..."

"Well that's good," she added with a smile. "It's good to know that you weren't just left out in the cold when it came to academics. You seem to at least know enough to make an honest living which is certainly good to see. To see someone as nice as you left out in the cold with no way to survive would be really sad. ...I guess it has probably been a long while since you left the orphanage though, huh? You seem like you're probably older than me. They've probably changed or been shut down already by now, I guess... That's good then! It means we've got nothing to worry about, right?" She smiled reassuringly once again. Life, for the moment at least, was good.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

"Awww, Dia is so nice."  Wendi gave a quick giggle.  "We only just met and you were still concerned for me."  Wendi took the last handful of fries in the container and tossed them into her gaping maw.  It was quickly mashed and consumed so she could speak once more.  "Yes, it has been quite a while since I left the orphanage.  It's been about fourteen years in fact.  Not long after I left I found this place and I've been here ever since."  Wendi once again showed her sharks grin.

She gave a quick giggle before responding,  "I guess I am a bit older than you.  You are in high school right?  So you are about sixteen or seventeen?  Well, as for me,"  Wendi took a moment to think.  "I should be about twenty-eight right now.  Not completely sure though."  Wendi laughed at herself for this.  "I was at the orphanage long before I could recall something like who my parents were or when I was born.  We also never celebrated birthdays there because the orphanage was too poor.  Even if the caretaker knew anything, when I ran away I left anything about me behind, so I don't know my actual birthday.  Though Eddy and Shawna started celebrating it on the anniversary of when I got here.  Because of that, I don't know my exact age, but it should be about twenty-eight now."

Wendi thought back all those years to before she left the orphanage.  "It has been a long time, and I haven't been back since I left.  I don't know what happened to it or the caretaker."  The thoughtful look was swept off Wendi's face, replaced by a shining smile that showed off her unmistakable sharks teeth. "But, I am here now."  Wendi liked things as they were now.  For her, these times were the best of her life.

But nothing lasts forever.

Eddy's Sweet Tooth Empty Re: Eddy's Sweet Tooth

Ms Wendi's vocalized notice of Dia's concern brought a renewed blush to the girl's cheeks, following it up with a bashful smile. "Y-yeah... I guess..." she responded quietly, her voice shrinking in volume now that she'd been called out so openly.

When Wendi asked about her age, Dia only nodded and ate the last bite of her burger. She was pretty spot on with her age despite her incredible height and amplified secondary sexual characteristics. Obviously the girl was fairly observant... or she knew when people usually stopped going to school.

"Wow, you're really that old?" Dia asked incredulously. "I would've never guessed. You don't look a day over twenty or so," she smiled. "I'm glad everything worked out for the better."

When Dia complimented Wendi on how young she looked, her mood was brightened even further.  "You really think so?  What a nice thing for you to say!"  Wendi gave a little chuckle.  "If someone as pretty as Dia says that, it makes me really happy."  She smiled widely, just barely showing her teeth.  "Yes, I'm glad things turned out the way they did too.  If it wasn't for all the people at the restaurant here, I don't know where I'd be."

Wendi eyed the burger Dia was eating.  "So, how are you enjoying the food?"  Wendi's smile reverted to showing her teeth.  "You may not think it's much when it's coming from a fast food restaurant, but I think Shawna makes it best!"

Thanks to Ms. Wendi's return compliment, the blush lighting Dia's cheeks wouldn't be fading any time soon, though the young woman did her best to function normally despite the bit of embarrassment she was experiencing.

"It's very good, thank you." She nodded quickly. "I can see why this restaurant has received such excellent reviews. I'll be sure to come back to visit more often. It's a shame that I didn't find it sooner."

Now that her burger was complete, Dia moved on to her own fries, the other cup having gone to Wendi already. "You seem to have a certain love for it yourself..." she joked with a small chuckle.

The fact that Dia said she enjoyed the food pleased Wendi very much.  "Really?  That's great!  I'm glad you like it.  Yeah, please visit more!  That way I get to see Dia more often too."  Wendi gave an excited giggle.

Wendi made no move to start eating the burger Dia had offered her, but she did eye it occasionally.  When Dia commented on Wendi's love for the food, she responded, "Of course!  Shawna's food is the best in the world!  I've been eating here for half my life.  Some people would get sick of eating the same food over and over, but I just don't see how I could ever hate it."
